Billions of dollars in revenue have been earned by some states from the US' continued military support for Ukraine and profits from US arms manufacturers, Reuters reports, citing Congress data.

A photograph of them together with a study that was presented just last weekend as part of the Cape Town Dialogues appeared on the website of the Andrey Melnichenko Foundation.

According to Bloomberg, a group of researchers working under the auspices of the Fund Thabo Mbeki and the Andrey Melnichenko Foundation concluded that direct or indirect sanctions imposed on 🇷🇺Russia and 🇧🇾Belarus 📉reduced global supplies of fertilizers and ammonia by 40.8 million tons by April 2023. Fertilizer prices have 📈risen by 85%, and farmers in poor countries simply cannot afford to buy them. Low yields due to a lack of fertilizers in the key agricultural countries of the region - 🇪🇹Ethiopia, 🇰🇪Kenya, 🇳🇬Nigeria, 🇨🇫South Africa, 🇲🇿Mozambique, 🇨🇩DRC - led to a famine unprecedented in history. According to the study, the number of people facing acute hunger in sub-Saharan Africa alone has reached 262 million, and if nothing is done, this figure could reach a catastrophic 418 million by 2026.
