Statement to the Public Regarding the Recent Developments at Al-Shaddadi Prison
Since the early hours of this morning, Al-Shaddadi Prison, which holds thousands of detainees from the terrorist organization ISIS, has been subjected to repeated attacks carried out by factions affiliated with Damascus.
Fighters of the Syrian Democratic Forces confronted these attacks and succeeded in repelling them several times, resulting in the martyrdom of dozens of our fighters and the injury of others, in an effort to prevent a serious security catastrophe.
Although Al-Shaddadi Prison is located approximately two kilometers from the International Coalition base in the area, the base did not intervene, despite repeated calls for intervention.
Accordingly, we inform public opinion that Al-Shaddadi Prison has currently fallen outside the control of our forces as a result of these developments.

بيان إلى الرأي العام بخصوص الأوضاع الأخيرة في سجن "الأقطان" بالرقة

منذ ثلاثة أيام، تواصل قوّاتنا التنسيق مع التحالف الدولي من أجل نقل سجناء تنظيم داعش الموجودين في سجن "الأقطان" بمدينة الرقة إلى أماكن آمنة، إلا أن التحالف، ورغم الوعود المتكررة، لم يتخذ حتى الآن أي خطوات عملية في هذا الإطار.

وخلال الاشتباكات المستمرة مع فصائل لدمشق، والتي تشن هجمات على السجن، واصلت قوّاتنا القيام بواجبها في حماية السجن ومنع انفلات الأوضاع الأمنية. وقد أسفرت هذه الاشتباكات، حتى لحظة إصدار هذا البيان، عن استشهاد 9 من مقاتلينا وإصابة 20 آخرين بجروح.

ولا تزال الاشتباكات مستمرة حتى الآن، في ظل ظروف أمنية بالغة الخطورة

Statement to the Public Regarding the Recent Developments at “Al-Aqtan” Prison in Raqqa
For the past three days, our forces have been coordinating with the International Coalition to transfer ISIS detainees held at “Al-Aqtan” Prison in the city of Raqqa to safe locations. However, despite repeated promises, the Coalition has so far taken no practical steps in this regard.
During the ongoing clashes with Damascus-affiliated factions, which are launching attacks on the prison, our forces have continued to carry out their duty to protect the prison and prevent a breakdown of security. As of the time of issuing this statement, these clashes have resulted in the martyrdom of 9 of our fighters and the injury of 20 others.
Clashes are still ongoing at this time, amid extremely dangerous security conditions.

تحديث - قامت الطائرات المسيرة التركية، قبل قليل، بقصف جبل كزوان جنوبي مدينة الحسكة، فيما تعرض الموقع أيضاً لقصف مدفعي.
في المقابل، صدّت قواتنا هجمات فصائل دمشق على محور قرية العالية، مُلحقةً بالخسائر فادحة بالأرواح والعتاد لدى الطرف المعتدي.

Tanks and artillery of Damascus factions are shelling Al-Aqtan Prison north of the city of Raqqa, which holds ISIS members and leaders, in an attempt to storm it for the third time today. Our forces are showing strong resistance against the attacks.

تحديث- تمكّنت قواتنا، قوات سوريا الديمقراطية ووحدات حماية المرأة (YPJ)، من إفشال خمس هجمات نفذتها فصائل دمشق على ريف مدينة صرين جنوبي كوباني، وذلك عقب اشتباكات مباشرة لا تزال مستمرة في المنطقة.

وخلال هذه الاشتباكات تم:
1. تدمير 7 سيارات تابعة للمجموعات المهاجمة.
2. تعرّض 4 آليات مدرعة لأضرار مباشرة.
3. إسقاط 4 طائرات مسيّرة تابعة لتلك الفصائل.

تحديث- خلال ساعات فجر اليوم، من الساعة الثالثة وحتى السادسة صباحاً، شهدت جبهة صرين جنوبي كوباني محاولتي هجوم متتاليتين نفذتهما فصائل دمشق، حيث تصدت لهما قواتنا بكل بسالة واقتدار. وقد أسفرت المواجهات في تلك الجبهة عن تدمير عدد كبير من آلياتهم العسكرية والمدرعات، ومقتل من كان بداخلها.

وفي جبهة أبو صرة، وجهت قواتنا ضربة دقيقة لأحد أرتال تلك الفصائل، ما أدى إلى إجباره على التراجع والفرار.

كما تم التصدي لمحاولة تقدم أخرى في محور قرية خان مامد جنوبي شرقي كوباني، حيث تلقى العدو ضربات موجعة أفشلت مخططه وأجبرته على الانسحاب.

إن قواتنا، قوات سوريا الديمقراطية ووحدات حماية المرأة، تؤكد جاهزيتها الكاملة لمواجهة أي عدوان، وستواصل الدفاع عن شعبنا وأرضنا بكل حزم وإصرار.

بيان – فصائل دمشق تقطع المياه عن سجن "الأقطان" بالرقة

بعد حصارها لسجن "الأقطان" شمالي الرقة وقصفها المباشر لأبنيته ومنشآته، أقدمت فصائل دمشق على قطع المياه عن السجن الذي يضم سجناء تنظيم داعش، ما تسبب بأزمة حادة في تأمين المياه، إلى جانب نقص كبير في المواد الغذائية والطبية.

إن هذه الممارسات تشكل انتهاكاً صارخاً للمعايير الإنسانية، وتعرض حياة السجناء للخطر.

نحمّل دمشق المسؤولية الكاملة عن أي تداعيات إنسانية أو أمنية قد تنتج عن هذا الإجراء، ونطالب المنظمات الدولية بتدخل عاجل لضمان تأمين الاحتياجات الأساسية للسجن.

Statement – Damascus-affiliated factions cut off water to “Al-Aqtaan” Prison in Raqqa
After besieging “Al-Aqtaan” Prison north of Raqqa and carrying out direct shelling of its buildings and facilities, Damascus-affiliated factions have proceeded to cut off water supplies to the prison, which holds detainees from the ISIS terrorist organization. This has caused a severe water shortage, in addition to a significant lack of food and medical supplies.
These practices constitute a blatant violation of humanitarian standards and pose a serious threat to the lives of the detainees.
We hold Damascus fully responsible for any humanitarian or security repercussions resulting from this measure, and we call on international organizations to intervene urgently to ensure the provision of the prison’s basic needs.
