💬 Russia’s High Commissioner for Human Rights, Tatyana Moskalkova:
📍 August 11, 2024
📍 August 11, 2024
🔥 Thousands of civilians have been affected by the barbaric attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Kursk region.
❗️ There are no words to describe the horror that the local residents had to endure over the past few days. The fear for children, for one's home, all the uncertainty - it is important not only to understand and empathize, but to do everything possible to provide targeted assistance. Together with government bodies, our human rights commissioners in the Russian regions are working in temporary accommodation centers that shelter residents of the Kursk region.
‼️ I urge the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, to condemn Ukrainian terrorism and to take measures to prevent gross mass violations of human rights.
In response to 🇨🇦 GAC's recent post:
Yet another confirmation that the @JustinTrudeau’s
cabinet fears the truth and conceals this fear behind attempts to blame others for its own actions.
BTW, very thoughtful reference to the Canada's federally funded @CBC in this context 😸

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s greetings to the organisers and participants of the 2nd International Buddhist Forum
💬 I would like to extend a warm welcome to the organisers and participants of the 2nd International Buddhist Forum, titled “Traditional Buddhism and Modern Challenges.”
Throughout history, Russia has been a multi-faith country. Buddhism has been practiced for centuries alongside Orthodox Christianity, Islam, and Judaism as one of the traditional religions. In this context, I am pleased to state that the initiative, which was launched last year, has proven to be highly relevant, as evidenced by the participation in the forum of representatives from many countries, scholars, and public figures.
Your meetings provide an additional impetus for the development of inter-cultural and inter-faith dialogue, especially in the face of the ongoing emergence of the multipolar international order, which reflects, among other things, the world’s cultural and civilisational diversity. Additionally, these meetings contribute to fostering an atmosphere of friendship and mutual understanding among nations and encourage collaborative efforts to address common pressing issues.
I am confident that this forum will be conducted in a creative atmosphere, fostering discussions on the importance of timeless spiritual and moral values, and strengthening international humanitarian cooperation.
🤝 I wish you productive work and all the best.

🇷🇺🇵🇸 President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas held talks in Novo-Ogaryovo.
💬 Vladimir Putin: As everyone knows, unfortunately, today Russia finds itself having to defend its interests and its people with arms in hand. However, we still pay close attention to the situation in the Middle East and the developments in Palestine. We have long-standing and deep ties with the Arab world in general, and with Palestine in particular, which we greatly value.
We are closely following the unfolding humanitarian disaster in Palestine with deep anguish and concern. We are making every effort to support the Palestinian people. As you know, we have already sent about 700 tonnes of various goods there. We are determined to seize any available opportunity to assist the Palestinian people. Above all, our main concern is the loss of civilian lives. According to the UN, there are 40,000 victims already, mostly women and children.
🤝 I am very pleased to have the opportunity to meet with you today in Moscow and discuss the full range of our relations, as well as the situation at present and in the short term.
As you know, we have always advocated for a peaceful settlement, and we understand – in this regard, we share the same position – that this problem has deep historical roots and is primarily related to the disregard of decisions made by international organisations, primarily the UN, to establish and create an independent Palestinian state.
☝️ Our stance on this matter remains unchanged. We adopted it a long time ago, and it is in no way motivated by considerations of short-term benefits. We believe that in order to secure lasting and stable peace in the region, it is imperative to implement all UN resolutions, with the establishment of a full-fledged Palestinian state as a priority.

🇷🇺🇺🇳 Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the UN:
🎙 Statement by Chargé d’Affaires Dmitry Polyanskiy at UNSC Arria meeting “Crimes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the nationalist battalions” (August 13, 2024)
💬 As we have already repeatedly indicated, the unconstitutional coup-d’état in Ukraine of 2014 resulted in an upsurge in nationalist organizations. The new authorities openly associated themselves with Ukrainian nationalist organizations, which collaborated with German fascists during their invasion of the USSR in 1941 and are responsible for the mass murders and atrocities against Jews, Poles, Russians, Ukrainians, Gypsies and the others.
In the 8 years that followed, nationalist extremism turned from a marginal phenomenon into a political mainstream with a distinct anti-Russian core. Residents of Donbass, who did not accept this illegitimate nationalist government, became “second-class” people to new authorities. They were labeled “separatists” and “terrorists”. The so-called anti-terrorist operation was launched against them by Ukraine. Recently the ICJ refused to satisfy Kiev’s claim to recognize Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics as “terrorist organizations”. <...>
❗️ During that time, the Kiev regime has committed an untold number of crimes. Intentional targeting of residential areas, destruction of civilian objects, murder of civilians, persecution of alleged “collaborators” were all established practices of Ukrainian soldiers.
<...>
Turning the situation into NATO’s proxy war against Russia, the West started to pump Ukraine with its weapons, and the number of attacks of the Kiev regime against civilians has multiplied. Systematic atrocities became integral part of Kiev’s military strategy.
***
☝️ We understand that our Western colleagues for political reasons are still in the faith of denial of any uncomfortable truth about true colors of the Kiev regime. In your perverted “black and white” picture of the world Ukraine is good and Russia is bad. No matter what real truth is. The fact that we came to Ukraine to stop the war that it launched ten years ago, to save residents of eastern Ukraine from extermination, is something that you want to vehemently deny.
I will refer to the words of our American colleague who spoke about collective responsibility. I totally concur – it will come to this. And you are absolutely right – the world is watching, and all who committed crimes will be held accountable, no matter whether they are in Kiev, Wahington, London or Brussels. And today, you have the opportunity to see that these processes are gaining momentum in Russia.

❗️ The Foreign Ministry's Ambassador-at-Large on the Kiev Regime's War Crimes, Rodion Miroshnik continues to record the most heinous crimes of the Kiev regime.
📖 Another digest focuses on UAV's mass murder of civilians.
Using drones of various types to attack civilians is the kind of crime that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) commit deliberately, cynically and with full understanding of the consequences of their actions. With UAV vision systems supplied by Western sponsors drone operators perfectly identify the victim. They see that there is a child, an elderly person or a woman in their crosshairs.
▪️ Since the beginning of 2024, Ukrainian UAVs have wounded no less than 656 civilians and killed more than a hundred (114).
In July alone, 186 civilians became victims of the Kiev regime’s drones: 170 were injured, 16 - killed. The majority of civilians injured or killed by Ukrainian UAVs were registered in the Belgorod Region - 79 people, six of them died of their wounds. In the DPR, 48 civilians became victims of AFU drone attacks, five of them were killed. In the Kursk Region, at least 29 civilians were subject to the same sort of Kiev regime’s criminal activity, one person died as the result of a UAV strike.
The Ukrainian butchers use UAVs to target civilians in residential areas, track down and burn civilian cars, attack firefighters extinguishing fires, medics and ambulances, civilian infrastructure repair crews, farming machines working in grain fields.
❗️Ukrainian drone operators do not spare even children. Since January 1, no less than 43 minors have suffered from targeted drops of explosive objects by drones in eleven Russian regions adjacent to the frontline. At least nine children have been killed, 34 – injured by AFU UAVs.
Among the most cynical crimes of the Kiev executioners is an aimed drop of ammunition on a playground surrounded by multistorey residential buildings in the town of Shebekino, Belgorod Region, on July 11. As a result, five children were hospitalized with mine blast injuries of varying severity. The youngest boy had to undergo a complex surgery on his spine. Doctors fought for the life of the eldest one for more than a week, but the 16-year-old could not be saved. The teenager died of his wounds.

⚡️ Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s comment on events around Ukraine
💬 The criminal and illegitimate Zelensky regime continues to reveal its ture neo-Nazi nature to the world.
In light of the situation in Donbass, which is a failure for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Ukrainian authorities have launched a terrorist attack on the border areas of the Kursk Region. Kiev openly stated that this action was intended to improve their negotiating position in the long term, as unashamedly admitted by Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of Zelensky’s Office, on August 8.
According to the regional administration, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ artillery fire killed 12 civilians, including an ambulance crew and a pregnant woman, and injured over 120 people, including 10 children. On the morning of August 6, Ukrainian gunmen fired at the Gornal Belogorsk St Nicholas Monastery from a tank during a service. <…>
☝️ Despite these barbaric methods, the Zelensky regime has failed to achieve its main goal of diverting the attention of the Russian armed forces from Donbass and Sloboda Ukraine.
On August 11, Ukrainian neo-Nazis, sensing that their Western curators had given them the carte blanche for bandit raids into Russian regions, attacked the Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant using a kamikaze drone from Nikopol in the Dnepropetrovsk Region, which is controlled by Kiev. As a result, a fire broke out in the area where the cooling towers of the plant are located. Fortunately, it was contained in time, and the threat of an accident was eliminated.
⚠️ This act of nuclear terrorism has once again shown the danger that the Zelensky regime, incited by the West to new criminal adventures, the continuous supply of deadly weapons to Kiev, and its regular financial support pose to the entire world.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s opening remarks at the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin (Moscow, August 14, 2024)
💬 We are glad that you have paid another visit to the Russian Federation. <...>
We should develop our cooperation in all areas. This is particularly relevant when natural relations between the states, which are willing to work together, are under unprecedented attacks from those who seek to ideologise the world politics and subject it to the rules invented by the collective West and aimed to preserve the hegemony. <...>
In your interview with RIA Novosti, you mentioned such method as colour revolutions, used by the West to suppress the dissenters. Specifically, you gave the example of October 2000, when such first clear attempt was made in Serbia, with the illegal change of power. Then the West applied the colour revolution tactics in Georgia and Ukraine, with different degrees of success. Now, something of that kind is taking place in Moldova. Quite recently another attempt to do the same was undertaken in Serbia.
We have appreciated the firmness of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and his team in opposing these attempts and defending the principles that irritate the West <...>. The All-Serb Assembly has shown that this is fully in the interests of Serbs in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
I cannot but mention that the West is trying to destroy canonical Orthodoxy. The Russian Orthodox Church and the Serbian Orthodox Church jointly with other fraternal churches are active in defending their rights and ideals common for all major world religions, which the West is trying to replace with “neoliberal values.”
🤝 The current global developments that I have tried to describe in brief from Russia’s point of view require even greater consolidation of those who stand for the principles of the UN Charter in all their entirety and interconnection, and not selectively, solely in parts necessary to the West for justifying its aggressive policy and promoting mutually advantageous cooperation.

☢️ On August 11, as a result of a drone strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of the Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP), a fire broke out at the plant's cooling system facility. Due to professional actions of firefighters, EMERCOM first responders and ZNPP workers, the fire was quickly localized, although serious damage was inflicted on the plant’s cooling towers.
💬 Spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova:
💬 Director General of Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev:
💬 Deputy Russian Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna, Roman Ustinov:
💬 Spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova:
"Everything the Zelenskiy regime does is fully supported by the West. The terrorists in Kiev, under the guidance of the ‘collective West’, have destroyed their own country, devastated the Ukrainian people, undermined global energy and food security, and now they have resorted to nuclear terrorism on the continent.
This act of nuclear terrorism emphasizes the global threat posed by the Zelenskiy regime, which is encouraged by the West to engage in increasingly reckless ventures. The ongoing supply of lethal weapons to Kiev and consistent financial backing further exacerbate this danger”.
💬 Director General of Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev:
"We view the recent attack not merely as a provocation, but as a deliberate strike against the security of the ZNPP infrastructure. A fundamental and absolute principle of IAEA safety is the integrity of infrastructure. In this context, the cooling towers and the water cooling systems are critical elements of the nuclear facility's safety, and they have sustained very serious damage.
The IAEA has already been informed about this incident directly through our Permanent Mission in Vienna, and Russian diplomats are conducting relevant activities. We see the first reaction from the IAEA leadership, but it is necessary to clearly identify the cause and give it an international political assessment".
💬 Deputy Russian Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna, Roman Ustinov:
"I would like to draw attention to the statement made by Ukraine's Energoatom immediately after the fire started at the nuclear power plant. There is a very interesting phrase that only ZNPP’s transfer to Ukraine can guarantee prevention of a nuclear and radiation accident. What does this mean? It means that Ukraine will continue its attacks on the plant. The only way to stop this is a clear response from the international community, in particular from the IAEA leadership”.
