Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova’s comment on the G7 statement

The so-called Group of Seven countries issued yet another politicised and biased communiqué, deliberately timed to coincide with the second anniversary of the start of Russia’s special military operation.

This statement is an example of the Western policy of attacking our country, and confirms the group’s irreversible degeneration into another tool of the current US administration’s hegemonic aspirations.

The G7 countries again had the audacity to accuse Russia of “illegal, unjustified, and unprovoked full-scale aggression” against Ukraine, which is also a “flagrant violation” of the UN Charter. In this regard, we have to repeat that the United States and its vassals still have to explain to the international community the legal foundations for the wars of aggression they have unleashed against Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and dozens of other countries, as well as for the unjustified armed aggression against Yemen that the Anglo-Saxons are carrying out right now.

We have repeatedly stated that the origins of the conflict go back at least as far as 2004, when the United States and the EU orchestrated the first coup in Ukraine by forcing an unconstitutional third round in the presidential elections in order to bring their protégé to power.

As we know from recent history, assistance from the United States and other “democratisers” like them can dry up at any moment. Washington puppets in Afghanistan can attest to the level of “reliability” of their Western patrons. The Americans abandoned them and fled the country in disgrace. They will flee again. It’s just a matter of time.

The era of alliances such as the G7 is gone forever. Its members need to acknowledge their mistakes, disavow their statements that are steeped in Russophobia, abandon their anti-Russia policies, and accept the objective reality of an emerging multipolar world without hegemony and neo-colonial diktat.

💬 Russian MFA Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova:

US Ambassador to Russia Lynne Tracy stated the significance of developing humanitarian connections between the US and the Russian people, adding that acquiring proficiency in English does not compromise one’s sense of patriotism.

However, she refrained from discussing the extent to which the United States supports the so-called NGOs involved in subversive activities in our country.

Additionally, there was no mention of Washington’s openly declared objective to achieve Russia’s “strategic defeat”. Exactly. There can be no country without a people. So, what the Americans want is to inflict a strategic defeat on our people.

She also refrained from acknowledging that the US is providing long-range weapons to the neo-Nazi Kiev regime, enabling it to carry out terrorist attacks against the Russian people.

Moreover, there was no acknowledgment of the fact that the US is allocating billions for the bloodshed it has provoked and organised for many years.

She did not say any of that. But I will. I will also add: Lynne, stop lying; instead, support your fellow citizens.

At the World Youth Festival in Sochi, young people from America expressed their desire to foster friendship with Russia (see the video). Perhaps it is time for the Embassy to personally welcome not those who are against Russia but those who support it, especially considering they are American citizens. Are you up to the challenge?
