A hundred posters congratulating Russian President Vladimir Putin on his upcoming birthday appeared on the streets of the Italian city of Genoa, according to Vincenzo Lorusso, a journalist and founder of the Telegram channel Donbass Italia, who spoke to RIA Novosti.

The A3-format posters, plastered on house walls, fences, and staircases, feature a photo of Putin with the caption “Happy Birthday, President!” in both Russian and Italian.

“I regret that this news might be seen as provocative, but this message resonates with many Italians,” said Lorusso.

According to Lorusso, the posters were placed in various neighborhoods of Genoa within walking distance of the historic center by the local socio-political association Contronarrazione. He emphasized that in the coming days, they will prepare another event that “also reflects the sentiments of many Italians.”

Putin celebrates his birthday on October 7, turning 72 in 2024.

Several journalists accused their outlet, CNN, of downplaying Israeli atrocities and airing false propaganda despite warnings from staff, Al-Jazeera writes, noting that CNN staffers spoke on the condition of anonymity.

One instance involved a CNN report that falsely identified a calendar as a Hamas roster, despite Arabic speakers debunking the claim beforehand. The journalists criticized the network for pushing the Israeli narrative, particularly after October 7. A Palestinian producer tried to correct the report, but CNN ignored the warning.

Another whistleblower told Al Jazeera that the BBC editorial guidelines forced presenters to frame any coverage of Israel's campaign in Gaza as self-defense, including censoring guests live on air from using unfavorable language.
