Yorkshire Building Society ‘closed vicar’s account after trans protest’

"An Anglican church leader has accused the Yorkshire Building Society of bullying after it announced that it was closing his account within 14 days when he protested against it allegedly pushing transgender “ideology”.

The Rev Richard Fothergill, who has been with the building society for 17 years, wrote to them online in June, after he was invited to give general feedback.

He insists his message was a polite rebuttal of transgender ideology, which he claims the institution has been actively promoting during Pride month. He received a letter four days later saying that his internet savings account would be closed.

Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) told him in the note, seen by The Times, that it had a “zero tolerance approach to discrimination” and that their relationship had “irrevocably broken down”.

Fothergill, 62, told The Times: “I wasn’t even aware that our relationship had a problem. They are a financial house – they are not there to do social engineering. I think they should concentrate their efforts on managing money, instead of promoting LGBT ideology.

“I know cancel culture exists and this is my first first-hand experience of it. I wouldn’t want this bullying to happen to anyone else.”

World Economic Forum Releases Framework to Help Business Identify ESG Factors for Long-Term Resilience > Press releases | World Economic Forum

"While companies are already feeling the impact of ESG factors on the health of their business, today’s era of increased transparency is also highlighting the importance of enhanced disclosures. Increased transparency also means that the rate at which currently immaterial issues are becoming material is accelerating.

The framework, developed by the World Economic Forum in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) helps companies identify these issues. It comprises four components:
1. Hyper-transparency of corporate practices in the Fourth Industrial Revolution
2. Escalating stakeholder activism fuelled by social media
3. Changing societal expectation in the new age of stakeholder activism
4. Growing investor focus on sustainability issues"

ESG explained, and why it’s critical to Helping Britain Recover - Lloyds Banking Group plc

Investing in Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) is crucial for any big corporation today. It’s not just the right thing to do but it’s also key to businesses’ future success

"Underpinning all this, we need to respond to the climate crisis by working towards a lower-carbon economy – ensuring a just transition that does not leave large parts of the population behind. At the same time, we must reduce other forms of environmental harm and foster more sustainable businesses.

There’s also a crucial need to champion diversity and inclusion in the workforce and to drive higher standards of health, welfare and human rights, not just in this country but across global supply chains too.

From a regulatory perspective, the Financial Conduct Authority already requires the most prominent listed businesses to state whether their financial announcements are in line with certain climate change-related criteria and provide an explanation for any areas where they are not. These requirements are only likely to become more stringent as the UK moves towards its goal of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050."

The authorities are lying to farmers that their bird flocks are infected with “bird flu”, despite it commonplace to have no sick birds (or no more than usual).
A single “non-negative”, PCR-based test can condemn the entire flock.
The farmer loses much money, then has to quarantine, then has to reapply for a license and even then wait till they’re laying again. Looks like this whole cycle is arranged to take 6-9 months, during which time egg supply is zero.
This is the most detailed account I’ve yet seen, describing this particular assault upon food production.

Important to note that this “bird flu” is an invention.

Best wishes

If you’re not yet familiar with Katherine Watt, may I humbly recommend you explore her Substack?
A bit of good news. The main locations for jabs in USA are pharmacies. They’re reporting few customers for all sorts of jabs. Whatever the reasons for that, we can cheer that change.
Best wishes

EVENT . These are images from an exercise that has taken place in Ukraine to simulate nuclear radiation fall-out from the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, for which, of course, Russia is to be blamed.

This is likely to happen before the end of the next NATO summit. Lithuania will host a NATO Summit in Vilnius on 11-12 July 2023.

Banks warned to uphold free speech after accounts blacklisted

Chancellor ‘deeply concerned’ about bans on customers who hold controversial views

"Jeremy Hunt, the Chancellor, is understood to be “deeply concerned” that overzealous lenders are closing down accounts because they disagree with customers’ opinions and has asked City minister Andrew Griffith to investigate the issue.
Whitehall sources said that results of a consultation on the subject will be published within weeks, after it was launched earlier this year in the wake of PayPal blocking the accounts of free speech groups."
