π Comprehension (reading) π
βοΈINSTRUCTIONS: Read a short passage and answer the related questions to each category: Technique, Details, and Vocab.
π In this passage, the author explains the formation and uses of diamonds.
π They're worn on fingers and in ears, but they form some 160 kilometres below Earth's surface where enormous heat and pressure create the carbon crystals we call diamonds. Volcanic activity brings diamonds near enough to the surface to be mined, after which they are polished, cut, and sold. However, their peerless hardness also makes them perfect for use in industrial drilling and precision-cutting tools. So be sure to admire diamonds for more than just their clarity and brilliance! π
