I've written this before but, modern neo paganism is just an atheist's spiritual react to the degeneracy of the modern world. Its their way of "returning" to tradition.

This is why "neo-pagnism" has mostly gained traction in: atheist/secular countries, like Scandinavian or Baltic countries; materialistic or rootless people, like Americans/Brazilians or Diaspora who have identity crises; and degenerates and/or social outcast.
