2013. Bernie Sanders warns that flooding the country with low-skilled labor hurts American workers, especially young people.
He said this at a critical time, when lawmakers were pushing a bill that would bring in hundreds of thousands of new entry-level workers into the labor market.
βIs it really true that we canβt find American workers to do those jobs?β Sanders asked. βI donβt believe it,β he answered.
He followed with another question: βDo we really need hundreds of thousands of workersβ¦ coming and competing against these kids?β
βI think not,β Sanders said.
