as far as the arguments go about how itโs so reddit to want historical accuracy from nolan, your brown is showing. homer is the foundational civilization tale for europe and all of white culture. thatโs why it matters to people. itโs not just a cool story that could be anywhere with anyone as long as it looks awesome. itโs not batman and robin. in fact, as far as โstoriesโ go, itโs not even that cool. it is awesome because itโs the blueprint for every european tradition for 2 millennia. and nolan is clearly giving a middle finger to that heritage intentionally. it also matters because we are a low iq society, and the best evidence of this is that more people are familiar with brad pitt in troy than they are with homerโs iliad. and when they reference hector or achilles or agamemnon, they have that god awful movie in mind. so these projects have a lasting effect. frankly there should be some legal mechanism for nations to protect their cultural heritage from this kind of blatant vandalism.
