Ci sono quelli che dicono che l'Apple Watch è solo una barzelletta, un mezzo fallimento. Peccato che, se si vanno a guardare i numeri (con un po' di elaborazioni) si scopre che l'Apple Watch sta sorpassando l'iPod. Ieri si è conclusa la prima metà della prima stagione di Star Trek Discovery, il rilancio del franchising che amo di più (sono un trekker dentro, lo ammetto) e che riprende la continuity televisiva, abbandonando l'universo parallelo dei nuovi film prodotti da JJ Abrahms. Non sapete quanto mi mancava un po' di sano escapismo basato sull'ottimismo di Gene Roddenberry, la vera cifra della serie classica (TOS) e in maniera calante di quelle successive (Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager ed Enterprise).

Discovery mi piace molto: torna all'epoca della serie originale, ha un cast di tutto rispetto, poche perdite di stile, una trama tesa e legata a un unico lungo racconto, senza (per adesso) "ship-in-a-bottle episodes" e sta continuando a crescere dopo un primo episodio troppo "lento". La seconda stagione è già stata ordinata poche settimane fa anche se ieri siamo arrivati all'episodio numero 9: i prossimi sei della prima stagione li vedremo da metà gennaio 2018.

Una nota a margine: alcune settimane fa il gioco di ruolo per iPad (e credo anche Android) "Star Trek Timelines", che fa giocare con un equipaggio preso da tutte le "ere" di Star Trek, ha aggiunto i personaggi di Discovery e ore e ore di nuovo gameplay, oltre ad eventi speciali per oltre un mese di ore-uomo. Wow. Torno a giocare.

Le molestie sessuali sono diventate una mareggiata che apparentemente sta per farci cambiare era, una sorta di momento di passaggio che verrà ricordato dagli storici. Forse esagero, ma la considerazione sul fatto che, sapendo quel che sappiamo adesso, non sia più possibile guardare alla stessa maniera i vecchi film, secondo me andrebbe meditata per un po'.

Non ho trovato una recensione approfondita di questo prodotto e quindi non ho idee su come sia realizzato. Ma l'idea di fondo è fantastica (e quasi totalmente inutile). Una cover per MacBook Pro 13 e 15 pollici che li trasforma in lavagne bianche. Esatto, per prendere appunti. Proprio stamattina a casa si chiacchierava della mancanza di lavagne negli uffici di molti di quelli che fanno ricerca in informatica: magari questa potrebbe essere una soluzione. Anche se, poi, quando si rimette il computer in borsa, si perdono tutti gli appunti secondo me.

In ogni caso troppo bella per non farvela vedere.
