Ci sono sempre più attenzioni al tema della privacy e consapevolezza (più o meno) relativa alla privacy e al tracciamento dei nostri movimenti online. A parte gli ad blocker (Ghostery su Safari per macOS, Firefox Focus su Safari per iOS), ho eliminato Google come scelta di default. Utilizzo al suo posto DuckDuckGo. Funziona? Certamente: è molto più flessibile e permette tra le altre cose di recuperare anche le funzionialità di Google, se serve. A quanto pare, non sono il solo a pensarlo.

È un argomento che mi sta a cuore e di cui abbiamo già parlato. Videogiochi che danno dipendenza, proprio come i social danno dipendenza. Qui non si tratta di demonizzare l'intrattenimento videoludico in senso pieno (Zelda per me dá dipendenza come Ken Follet) ma di rendersi conto che in certi contesti e su alcuni media come i cellulari alcuni giochi sono studiati per acchiappare le persone. E potrebbero o dovrebbero essere limitati. In Cina lo stanno facendo.

Louis Rossetto, cofondatore di Wired, alla sua veneranda età ha scritto un romanzo: Change is good. E vuole fare come sempre l'originale. In questa intervista, che potrebbe tranquillamente essere intitolato "Show me your ego, I'll show you mine" tanto gronda autocompiacimento e complicità (ma tanto siamo tutti blogger, no?) c'è di più. Ma dovete farvi una pera di insulina e prendere due ansiolitici prima di leggere.

In rete c'è di tutto, si sa, e quindi ci sono anche gli appassionati di macchine per scrivere. Argomento che neanche io disdegno, a dire il vero. Questo blogger scriveva, pochi anni fa, della sua collezione di Olivetti Lettera come se si trattasse di prodotti appena sfornati. A ben guardare, tra lui che parla degli anni Cinquanta-Sessanta e chi oggi parla dell'ultimo Samsung o iPhone, non vedo poi tutta questa differenza.

Il libro di Robert Wright sul buddismo - l parte laica e non trascendente, quella sulla meditazione - sta muovendo i media americani. Non penso solo per via del budget dell'editore per promuoverlo. Magari ci stanno veramente vedendo qualcosa dentro.
