Bye bye Intel Developer Forum. Praticamente il giorno dopo che è uscita una serie di miei articoli su Nova24 del Sole 24 Ore sulla legge di Moore (sorry, carta only), Intel annuncia un po’ in sordina di cancellare il suo evento di San Francisco per gli sviluppatori sulla piattaforma x86 e dintorni. Giusto in tempo!

This has spanned from CPU announcements like Skylake and Kaby Lake, to storage products like Optane, to networking fabrics like Omni-Path. Immaginate se il primo presidente nero degli Stati Uniti avesse fatto o portato avanti la metà, un terzo dei conflitti e delle contraddizioni di Donald Trump. Sarebbe stata l'epocalisse.

Il problema qui è semplice: il rapporto con la criminalità in Russia è istituzionale. Anzi, è parte delle istituzioni. Da questo ne consegue che c'è un uso costante di strumenti e canali criminali da parte del governo. Alla fine questo però si ripercuote nella cultura di un paese e del suo senso della statualità, con conseguenze temibili.

Guerre Stellari e Blade Runner hanno introdotto tra gli altri l’idea di una tecnologia del futuro usata, sporca, funzionante a tratti. Secondo me questo video, girato da un fulminato niente male, introduce un’intera nuova classe per l’estetica del futuro. Sapete che ogni tanto condivido articoli che non condivido, completamente o del tutto. Questo lo condivido profondamente nelle sue idee ma mi stucca da morire il modo con cui è stato scritto. Che serva da avvertimento per tutti.

La sostanza però è notevole: prendendo spunto dalla fioritura dei ciliegi in Giappone, una delle civiltà che ha evitato di recidere il suo legame culturale con la natura (seppure notevolmente complesso e sicuramente trasformativo, come insegna l’ikebana e l’idea stessa che la natura debba essere comunque “riordinata”), l’autrice affronta un tema cruciale. La trasformazione dell’ambientalismo in veicolo globale vuoto di quei valori e dimensioni locali che non solo lo rendevano lirico ma anche emotivamente più comprensibile oltre che razionalmente condivisibile. Intrigante lettura per il fine settimana del ponte.

Ci sono dimensioni della correttezza politica Made in America che ancora mi stupiscono. Non è tanto la sua complessiva validità, quanto la capacità di discutere e di lavorare sul metodo necessario per confrontarsi. Lo trovo sano. Penso sia un segno di civiltà che rende Donald Trump ancora più singolare e stridente, ma forse necessario.

Comunque, nel modo felpato e paludato con cui si insegna nelle scuole, qualcosa sta purtuttavia cambiando.

Émile Durkheim studiando i suicidi in città, definiti "anomici", ci ha costruito il fondamento di quella scienza che oggi chiamiamo sociologia. L'autore dei benefici della solitudine è probabilmente immemore di questo passaggio ne però non sarebbe stonato rispetto alla complessa e a tratti molto forzata ricostruzione della nostra dimensione esistenziale e neuro cognitiva rispetto alla solitudine che poi si trasforma in Natura selvaggia (chissà perché). Solitudine? Deserto? Giungla? Alaska o Polo Nord?

In ogni caso è un viaggio alquanto stimolante per la solita, cultirustica ricchezza di nessi e particolari. La tesi sta in una pagina, ma l'articolazione ne prende centinaia, ricche di casi, note e particolari. Mi mancano Durkheim e Rousseau.
