Kodak annuncia che riprende a produrre una pellicola analogica - si chiama Ektachrome - invertendo la tendenza degli ultimi quindici anni a togliere dal mercato le varietà del film per via dell'avvento del digitale. Gli gli artisti, soprattutto gli attori, sono sempre qualcosa di più e qualcosa di meno della loro opera. Nel caso di Carrie Fisher, scomparsa recentemente come sappiamo, c'è veramente da pensarci un po' sopra. Perché forse era qualcosa di più e qualcosa di meno della principessa Leia Organa.

La coscienza: che cos’è? Un problema che ha traversato la storia dell’umanità, con le migliori menti del passato che si sono dedicate a indagare, speculare, riflettere per cercare di offrire una risposta. Oggi i filosofi non vengono più considerati le migliori menti della nostra società ma le domande di questo genere però non sono scomparse: sono finite in mano a neuroscienziati, psichiatri e cognitivisti, per tacer dei fisici e dei matematici.

Questo passaggio sta pian piano ridefinendo anche i punti chiave del problema stesso: anziché avere due problemi, uno facile e uno difficile (lo diceva Cartesio: quello facile è l’esistenza della coscienza nel cervello, quello difficile è la motivazione per cui essa esiste), siamo arrivati al “vero problema”.

Gli americani, dopo aver punito il pianeta con una lingua priva di accenti e segni diacritici che ha devastato l’utilizzo dell’informatica (vedere noi e i poveri francesi, ad esempio, che viviamo di accenti gravi e acuti) adesso stanno cominciando a diventare un po’ schizzinosi per quanto riguarda la parte tipografica del web. E così, dopo aver creato numerose spaccature (inclusa quella “little endian, big endian” tra Mac e Pc), arriva il momento in cui ci si mette a ragionare di virgolette dritte o a ricciolino, chiedendosi perché.
