A proposito di questa campagna elettorale, oramai agli sgoccioli: si è parlato tanto di Donald Trump e della sua manifesta inadeguatezza ad essere presidente degli Stati Uniti (o di qualunque altro Paese, se è per questo). Si è purtroppo parlato molto di Hillary Clinton in funzione di Trump, nella peggiore tradizione sessista per cui le donne protagoniste sono in realtà accessori degli uomini: mogli, figlie, amanti, sorelle, madri. Incapaci di un pensiero autonomo che non sia in alternativa o sottomesso a quello già espresso dalle figure maschili. La quasi totalità della nostra narrativa, della nostra fiction è costruita così, e la stessa cosa si applica al discorso sociale.

In realtà, per me la cosa che è mancata ancora di più a Hillary Clinton è questo:

Perché alla fine lo sconfitto Donald Trump sarà stato la più grande fortuna di una candidata per molti altri versi mediocre. Contro Barack Obama Hillary non avrebbe mai vinto e infatti non ha vinto le primarie otto anni fa.

Si possono fare soldi con i libri? In inglese e toccando certi argomenti o generi a quanto pare sì. Ma non tantissimi. Qui una storia di quelli che sono nella parte statisticamente più fortunata ma i cui guadagni non si possono definire "enormi": 400 dollari al mese, seppure senza promozione. Il tutto spiegato bene.

I sistemi automatici rendono più facili molte cose, ma introducono nuovi problemi. Gli utenti si vedono erodere le proprie competenze, i sistemi sono molto sicuri e per questo quando vanno in tilt sono situazioni molto difficili da gestire. Il risultato è che gli incidenti sono meno ma diventano molto più pericolosi. Il futuro di auto che si guidano da sole, ultimo ma solo in ordine di tempo di una lunga serie di situazioni in cui "guida e decide" il computer, non è un futuro roseo. E noi tendiamo a sottovalutare questa condizione.

Ci sono cose molto belle e cose molto adatte a un ponte di novembre casalingo. Inoltre, OpenCulture ricorda che anche loro hanno una un'ampia videoteca classica gratuita.

Due settimane fa ero a Hong Kong. C'è il volo diretto da Milano Malpensa con Cathay Pacific. Sempre pieno. Un vicino mi chiedeva: ma Alitalia perché non vola su Hong Kong da Milano? Dopotutto è la porta per Shenzen e la Cina tutta: la destinazione finale delle nostre PMI, per dire.

La risposta parziale sta qui. Dal 2001 non c'è più. Perché non lo riaprono? Mistero.

Giusto un grafico veloce con Google Trends per valutare l'impatto del lancio dei nuovi portatili di Apple nelle ore immediatamente successive al Keynote di giovedì. La chiave si ricerca è "MacBook alternative". Il risultato parecchio interessante, per chi si occupa di "sentiment" della rete.
