Da quattro anni, ogni anno, Tom Hanks, Goetzman e Herzog producono per CNN una serie di documentari dedicata a una decade. Ci sono stati The Sixties (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️), The Seventies (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️), The Eighties (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) ed è appena uscito The Nineties (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️). Ogni serie ha un episodio dedicato alla televisione, uno alla politica, uno all'attualità, uno alla musica e, ovviamente, altri sono dedicati ad eventi particolari accaduti nel corso di quel decennio.
Il mio consiglio è di partire con il decennio in cui sei stato adolescente: poi non smetterai fino all'ultima puntata.
Se per caso la storia non ti ha mai affascinato, sin dai tempi della scuola, forse è perché non hai mai sentito nessuno raccontare la tua.

Un articolo molto educational/rieducational su cosa sia la compressione digitale, cioè in pratica cosa succede quando si zippa qualcosa. Didascalico e divulgativo un po' più del giusto, ma se non altro si impara qualcosa di cognitivamente rilevante. Anche perché la compressione è diventata pervasiva.

Alessandro Dal Lago, che è un sociologo italiano vicino alla pensione e piuttosto importante dalle nostre parti, ha scritto un libro su J.R.R. Tolkien (che non ho letto) che viene demolito da uno dei Wu Ming, quello appassionato studioso e conoscitore dello scrittore del Signore degli Anelli.

L'errore di ubris di Dal Lago starebbe nella sua mancanza di approfondimento, nel suo provincialismo italiota e, soprattutto, in una lettura ideologica e marxista che si sposa molto ma molto male con la sofisticata critica nata attorno a Tolkien negli ultimi trent'anni. Dal Lago insomma non ci avrebbe capito una beata mazza, secondo Wu Ming.
