Police officers sacked and barred rises to nearly 600 in just 12 months
Figures show 593 police officers were sacked in the year to April 2024, a 50% rise from the 394 dismissed the previous year, according to the College of Policing.
Dishonesty was the most common reason, with 125 cases, followed by sexual offences (74) and discriminatory behaviour (71).
Something strange is going on with the police; the crisis is getting worse.
