🗓 It had been several days since Rex left the city he helped build. Bitterness was eating him up inside: how could they do this to him? He had given them everything, was ready to do anything for them, but in return—only fear and betrayal. At the first sign of danger, they turned their backs on him, erasing him from their lives. Anger and confusion overwhelmed him, leaving him unsure of what to do next.

Rex walked along the road that started at the northern gates of the city. After a week, the thick jungle parted, revealing the shore of a large body of water. He didn’t have a boat, nor did he have the desire to cross the water. He stood still, uncertain of where to go. His gaze settled on a hut perched on a cliff, where the jungle gave way to a rocky, dangerous shore.

🏠 Upon reaching the hut, Rex discovered that no one had lived there for a long time. He rummaged through the drawers and cabinets, hoping to find something useful. Soon, his attention was drawn to a door leading to the basement. Descending the stairs, he found three strange objects amid the clutter. They could serve as protection and help him survive. But taking all of them didn’t feel right, so he had to choose just one.

The mutation was progressing, his body changing, and the constant pain in his third leg was unbearable. He felt increasingly alien, even to himself. Loneliness and the bitterness towards those who had exiled him weighed heavily, turning each step into a torment.

⏺ One day, after stopping by a dried-up stream, Rex couldn't take it anymore. He pulled out his broken katana and, with cold resolve, ran the blade along the veins on his wrists. Blood trickled thinly onto the ground, but instead of relief, fear came over him. At that moment, he realized that he wanted to live, despite all the despair.

💙 He bandaged his wounds, his trembling hands struggling to stop the bleeding. Death was not the answer—his battle was far from over. He looked up at the beautiful starry sky spread out above him, and a tear rolled down his cheek.

A mountain of ash and bones now stood where a bustling neighborhood once thrived. Bones of dogs. The horrifying sight struck Rex, and he was overtaken by a wave of nausea.

🗡 As he stepped closer, he noticed a small dagger gleaming amidst the ash and shadows. Almost unconsciously, he reached for the hilt, and the moment his fingers touched it, the world around him darkened.

⚪️ A whirlwind of terrible visions erupted in Rex’s mind. Ancient pyramids, Adam, the Cursed Wastelands, Gavkus, Dogtown… The entire history of the dogs flashed before his eyes.

🐈‍⬛ And at the center of all their suffering, he saw the Cat: the betrayal of the gods who once protected them, families consumed in hellish flames, endless torment in the Cursed Wastelands, and finally, the inevitable apocalypse — a blinding flash, the explosion of a bomb that consumed everything.

Rex slowly opened his eyes. The scorched wasteland stretched out before him, a glimpse of the same future awaiting his city — the one he still called home. The fear and hatred of his kin no longer troubled him, nor did his altered, alien body. His entire being was now focused on the looming explosion, the catastrophe he was destined to stop.
