Werewolves
You probably think werewolves shapeshift? They don't!
They were not men in wolf form but wolves in man form. Twas their soul not their flesh. Yet the ones I speak of, of blood and bone with the brutality and savagery of those Werewolves of yore those were simply Men who knew themselves more than most today can comprehend.
They had all the savagery, wildness and kindness that exists in all of us. That subtle call to the mountain woods, live or die. They were called Werewolves among other monstrous names to terrify those the Church had ensnared. To them they were fearsome to behold. Built with all the power of the wild, sinews like braided steel, strength of mountain stone, fingertips able to rend flesh as predators claw, hair wild and untamed, their hair shorn by fire or tree-limb just as the Auroch or Boar. The effect an impressive mane of fury incarnate. Beneath that the piercing, knowing eyes of a Forest God. Naturally to those civilized and living in fear they appear to be beasts incarnate.
Wolfmen if you will.
But they were not cursed beasts, at least no more than you or I have the potential to be. This is the Werewolf, the true self within each and every one of us waiting to be free. Though we may try to suppress it, deny it, but in the end if what many have seen in the woods to be true. The Truth will Out! For stripped to feel the sun, the kill, the breath and the blood of their quarry. Our people hunt in secret the way of our ancestors with claw and strike to once more taste THE TRUE FREEDOM OF THE HUNT!
Werewolves are not Monstrous men, no... it is us who are the misshapen domesticated monsters who deny our true selves. Who we are when we are Wild and Free.

Ancestor Veneration Begins with The Living
Recently someone close to us weathered the death of a treasured family member, in the aftermath he discovered something his treasured Mother wrote of her Father
This heartfelt description of her father begins as such:
"Although he is a big man with a gruff voice which spouts curse words at regular intervals, he has a heart that envelopes everyone around him. I have seen him quiet a whimpering small child and save a grown man's life."
and by the end of this short loving bit of prose:
"Of all the persons I've known, this man has influenced me the most, not only because he is my daddy but because he is also my friend, who laughs and jokes with me, and my guide, who gives me advice and warns me about the world. Daddy may be a stern and severe father at times, but most of the time he is my "Freckled Atlas" who looks after me and loves me."
Reading this while I bear no ties to the family of my friend the love and adoration our friends mother held for his grandfather brought a tear to my eye and reminded me of something incredibly important.
Ancestor Veneration Begins with the Living. Remind your parents, your grandparents and all of your family how much they mean to you. They may not be here tomorrow, you may not be here tomorrow, but that love between each other will.

Plague of The "Educated"
There is something that has been dwelling in the back of my mind of late and I think I may not be the only one to have noticed this but... there are rather a lot of Educated Idiots lately aren't there?
If this seems a bit odd, let me simply ask a question.
People will build grand tapestries of hypothesis' and worldviews off of the idea of Hollow Earth taking the example of the European Fae and Underworlds as Proof!
Only neither the Fae nor despite their names the "Underworlds" are actually under the earth, but in other realms.
Another example is one of archaeology where an endless cavalcade of shapes, stick figures and amorphous carvings are labeled "Odin". In so doing the archaeologist will gain much needed media attention that his find otherwise would've lacked, but because no one asks the honest question if this random bearded man or stick with limbs is Odin a series of zealots, desperate to demand that it is so, will concoct all manner of excuses for why it is most assuredly Odin when anyone decries with childlike innocence, that it is simply a stick figure.
There are many more examples, more than would fit in a post I daresay. But in a world awash in nonsense and people building a name for themselves off of other peoples guesswork and propaganda remember the most powerful weapon and bullshit detector at your disposal.
The Question.

If this seems a bit odd, let me simply ask a question.
Why?
Not any specific why but just Why? More than the What? or the ever present When? or How? But the Why? And Perhaps another important question the Who? and the Where?
I'm aware this sounds confusing and a bit all over the place but Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?
Simple questions anyone can ask. And yet... So few do. And this. This is the crux of what is plaguing so much of the modern world, the inability to ask proper questions. Or then to question what those answers may imply, or if the answers given are indeed valid. For example I shall use the sphere I am typically placed into, that of the pagan. People will build grand tapestries of hypothesis' and worldviews off of the idea of Hollow Earth taking the example of the European Fae and Underworlds as Proof!

Why You Aren't Finding "Ethnic Pagans"
Recently I was, against my better judgement, in an argument, well actually 2 simultaneous arguments with opposite ends of the Spectrum of what we call the Pagan Sphere, the results were surreal.
One side could best be described as akin to Norse Wiccans feeling their way through it and mostly repeating the jargon of Runes, SkΓ₯l, Allfather, Valhalla! While the other was cloaked in academic veracity but spoke with their own dogmatic jargon of Indo-European, Sky-Father, Etymology and Experts Agree! Both sides began the argument for the same reason and had much the same response Odin is the all powerful Main God of Aryan/Norse! Whether they called him All father or Sky Father and sometimes both.
What was most shocking to me was that all other gods were relegated to unimportant nonentities. One side describing all other gods as "Some Random" while the other claimed that "the Gods pray to Odin just as we do".
Neither side knew nor cared about any folk traditions even speaking of them derogatorily as "Fairy Tales". How can you know who or what a God or people are if their story means nothing to you?
-
Odin is just the most egregious example of this, the main difference between each sides rendering of a new one true god seems to be whether they have his portrait painted like Conan the Barbarian or Strawberry Shortcake.
Other Gods and tribes have suffered the same indignity all minutia or personality stripped from them The Morrigan for the Gaels or Zeus for the Greeks. Made into an all powerful being without distinct traits, no different from the Christian customs of a Build-a-Bear-Religion. Do you prefer God with one eye or two? Pussy or Penis?
How can you be Ethnic Pagan if you don't care about any Ethnic Traditions beyond how it can be conflated into some grand universalist narrative? The peoples own history, culture and relationship to the Gods all but disposed of, meaningless fluff to the core of the One True.
How is this ethnic?
