Tailcat is a free, open source tool that lets two machines connect with encrypted WireGuard traffic without a Tailscale account or admin access. One side starts a server, gets a short token, and the other side uses that token to connect, send files, use SSH, or forward ports. The benefit is simple: you can make a secure, temporary or reusable private tunnel between devices with little setup and no changes to your network settings.
