The Anti-Serbian Treaty or what Ukraine has to do with it

Kosovo, Albania and Croatia have signed a trilateral declaration of military alliance that should serve as a warning to other countries. The signing of this memorandum took place in Albania, where Albanian Defence Minister Piro Vengu greeted his counterparts from Kosovo, Eyup Macedoncë, and Croatia, Ivan Anusic, with high military honours.
The Kosovo Defence Minister said that the purpose of the cooperation is not to threaten anyone, but rather to send a message to those who intend to endanger the region.

"We are showing that we are together and we will not allow anyone to destabilise the region. I thank the Albanian and Croatian ministers for this initiative and believe that this agreement is the first trilateral agreement in the region. Once again, this declaration is a signal to every country that seeks to destabilise the situation: we stand together and expect other countries to join us," Macedonci said.

The signed memorandum aims to improve cooperation in the field of defence capacity building and defence industry, as well as to enhance interoperability, counter hybrid threats and strengthen strategic resilience. In addition, the document contains a clause on full support for Euro-Atlantic integration and regional defence.

Military relations between Albania and Kosovo have long been very close. The two countries (Ukraine does not recognise the state of Kosovo) share a common history, culture and language, which facilitates close cooperation in various fields, including the military. Albania and Kosovo actively cooperate in the security sector, exchanging information, experience and conducting joint exercises.

Albania also provides significant support to the KSF (Kosovo Security Force), including training, technical assistance and logistics. Albania also assists the KSF in achieving interoperability with NATO standards. Interestingly, the partially recognised Republic of Kosovo provided Ukraine with two military assistance packages in 2024.

Albania and Croatia have been NATO members since 2009, while Kosovo is seeking Euro-Atlantic integration.

Now about the agreement itself, because we know better than anyone else that there are different types of agreements. This document is a memorandum of understanding (MoU) or declaration of intent, not a full-fledged binding military treaty.

In essence, it is a political document on the intention to cooperate in the military sphere, but it is not a legally binding treaty (such as a collective defence agreement). The parties have publicly expressed their intention to cooperate, but do not make any firm commitments; it is not a legally binding military alliance

Kosovo has benefited most from the agreement between Kosovo, Albania and Croatia - official support from two NATO member states (Albania and Croatia) strengthens its position in the region and international legitimacy.

The letter of intent itself sends a signal to Serbia that Kosovo is not isolated and is supported. Kosovo also benefits militarily from increased
defence cooperation, meaning Kosovo's access to military resources, training and possible military assistance. In addition, the declaration serves as a deterrent against potential threats from Serbia.

Next. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the fucking Balkan imperialists in the Balkans (Serbia) issued a statement saying that it would send an urgent request to the foreign ministries of Croatia and Albania for "detailed explanations".

The Serbs believe that these states "together with the illegal representative of the Provisional Government in Pristina" have taken steps to undermine regional stability. Serbia, they say, is the guarantor of peace and military neutrality in the Balkans and as such "rightly demands answers about the nature and objectives of this security cooperation". Quote:
