“The Supreme Being has unlimited potencies, out of which willpower, the power of knowledge, and the creative energy are topmost. There is no possibility of material creation without thinking, feeling, willing, knowledge, and activity. The combination of knowledge and action of the Supreme Will is what brings about the cosmic manifestation.

“Though the Lord resides in the spiritual world, the form or expression of the Lord that descends into the material world to create is called an avatara. The first such avatara is Maha-Vishnu, the master of eternal time, space, cause and effects, mind, elements, and all living beings. From Maha-Vishnu comes the unlimited expanse of water called the Causal Ocean in which He lies down accompanied by all the infredients of material creation, or maya. This Causal Ocean, otherwise called the Viraja River, is the border between the spiritual and material worlds. The material energy is kept within the boundary of the Viraja River and cannot go beyond.

Within the Causal Ocean, Maha-Vishnu enters yoga-nidra, a divine sleep. In this yoga-nidra, the Lord appears to dream and the dream manifests as the creation, maintenance, and annihilation of the cosmic manifestation. Therefore, this world is nothing more than the cosmic dream of the Supreme Personality.

“In the beginning there is neither day nor night, nor sky, nor earth, nor darkness, nor light, nor any other things. There is only the Supreme Spirit and the unmanifested material energy. This material energy, maya, the limited potency, having manifested from the spiritual power of the Supreme, is the efficient cause of the material creation and is also the total material ingredients in its nonmanifest form. This material nature, being lifeless, can do nothing until empowered by the Supreme, which takes place when Maha-Vishnu glances upon the material energy. This glance impregnates the material nature with the souls of the innumerable living entities who had been lying dormant within the body of the Supreme. Consciousness is this created and maya becomes agitated into activity. In this way, the Supreme is the original seed or father of all existence.”

Usually we see the Mandelbrot set as a flat two dimensional image. What’s exciting is to produce a 3-D animation which shows the values produced by the algorithm that creates the Mandelbrot set. Within the two dimensional plane of complex numbers which include the summation of the standard real numbers and imaginary numbers, we see this fractal. The algorithm that produces this fractal is simple. Starting with zero we multiply a value by itself and then add the location in the complex plane. Then we take that answer and repeat the process. The answers are represented in this orthogonal third dimension to the complex plane. In some locations in the complex plane these values produce finite values. In other locations these values go to infinity. Here we are seeing the finite values represented for each location in the complex plane.
