The 1654 book deals with one of the most hidden themes in history:
"The Tartar War, or the conquest of the great and most famous Chinese Empire by the invasion of the Tartars, who have completely destroyed that brave empire in the last five years.

Does anyone know anything about this war? For some reason the official historiography of China is convinced that there was only internal strife and no destruction during this period. Few, however, fondly recall the crushing defeats. But after the fall of Tartaria, the survivors could rewrite history to their liking, who could stop them? Good thing there are books in foreign libraries proving China's crushing defeat.
