Joh Kepler. Years of life: 1630 - 1930. Located in the city of Bad Wildbad, Germany.

Here we have a very interesting tombstone. If we look at the inscriptions, we discover that a certain Mr. Kepler lived an astonishing 300 years!!!

When I first came across this photograph, I assumed it was a memorial monument erected in honor of Johannes Kepler (1571-1630), the renowned German astronomer and mathematician, commemorating the 300th anniversary of his passing in 1630.

However, it appears that this assumption is incorrect, and here's why:

📌1. On the tombstone, it doesn't say Johannes Kepler, but rather Joh Kepler. One might assume that it is simply an abbreviation of his name. However, why would someone write only an abbreviation instead of the full name, especially if the person was of public significance? It doesn't make sense.

📌2. The renowned Johannes Kepler died in Germany on November 15, 1630. However, his grave was tragically destroyed in 1632 by the Swedish army during the tumultuous period of the Thirty Years' War.

📌3. In 1808, a small temple was erected in the area where he was presumed to have been buried. However, this temple has absolutely no connection or resemblance to the tombstone in question.

It could be said that we are dealing with two completely different individuals, and the tombstone has no connection to Johannes Kepler (1571-1630).

Therefore we can question whether the anonymous person buried here (Joh Kepler) actually lived for 300 years?!

On the Moon

We have to make an excursion today, to have a look at a piece of South American mythology.

A Columbian tale goes:

"When the Moon did not yet exist, a bearded old man named Botschika taught the arts of agriculture, clothing, worship and politics to the people. His beautiful but malevolent wife was Huythaca. She caused a flood in which most people perished. Botschika then turned her into the Moon."

Interesting, isn't it? We can deduce at least two things from this tale:

1. The Moon wasn't always in a physical position like today.
2. At least a part of the South American folklore identifies the Moon as female.
