Hello . Ireland did not have a potato famine. We had a genocide. Our rivers and lakes and coast were bountiful with salmon and trout and the potato blight only affected potatos. We grew many other crops and we also had plentiful livestock. In fact we had a worlds fair in Cork in 1851 during the so called famine. We will never find out what really happened but an Island does not starve due to the failure of one crop...
