Binance has shared preliminary findings from the overnight hack, estimating the damage at $6.3 billion. The attacker may have accessed the system through a DevOps engineer’s compromised laptop and used an internal service to initiate unauthorized withdrawals.

Binance says there is no evidence that wallet private keys were leaked. Deposits are operating normally, but withdrawals remain suspended as the exchange works to restore them.
