Last nights storm sailing.

We were trying to beat this tropical storm to get to our destination… we got boxed in by powerful, intense storms coming from and forming in every direction unpredicted.

Wind gusts topped at almost 60mph with sustained 40-50mph wind speeds, and constant direction change every 15 minutes. Lighting everywhere, hurricane force rains, 8-12 foot ocean swells about 2 seconds apart. It was a wild night out in the middle of the ocean. Alone, in our home, in 3000 ft of water… getting tossed and beat by Mother Nature only making endless circles in the deep ocean, while getting blown father away from any destination point.

This is part of the sailing life!
