By the way, such fixes will be required less often if more bugs will be found in the new upcoming dev versions. Dev version is a less stable version of Telegram Desktop, all features appear first there and only after some testing by all the users who installed a dev version — to all the public, who use stable update channel.

And that means more dev version users => more testers => less bugs and bugfix updates in stable version. So if you want to in the first line and get all the new features as quick as possible you are welcome to install dev version from the bottom of that page: https://desktop.telegram.org/#dev-version
The new stable version 0.9.2 is available. Some critical bugs are fixed there, including sending replies to bots from custom keyboards.

You can update your current version in Settings or download it from https://desktop.telegram.org
The new dev version 0.9.3 is already out! You can update in Settings or download this new version from the bottom of https://desktop.telegram.org/#dev-version page.

This one should render your conversations list, emoji and stickers panel and almost all other parts a little bit faster. Especially it could be noticed if you own not a very fast PC or you run OS X with Retina display.

I remind you that the «dev version» update channel is less stable but it gets all new features (and bugs, and crashes 😄) a little bit faster, than the stable one.
This week and a half I was working on a new beautiful dialog boxes design, and the new 0.9.4 dev version brings it to you!
And also it brings some important bugfixes:
— previous optimizations in the version 0.9.3 sometimes resulted in wrong conversations list display (one green check instead of two, some typing status freezes, etc..)
— sometimes the version for OS X 10.6 and 10.7 was crashing when trying to show a new message notification.
— version for Linux with the tray icon enabled was interrupting the shutdown process.

I hope in the new 0.9.4 those bad things are no more.

P.S. you can now toggle the notifications display right from the context menu, thanks to the open source community guys.
Also in 0.9.4 dev version in the new beautiful send image box you can attach a caption to the images, that you paste from the clipboard:

This moment has come at last and the new dialog boxes design together with some vast render speed improvements are finally released in the new stable version 0.9.5!

I hope that all the bugs from both dev versions of this features were fixed and that 0.9.5 will work great for you.

Update now at your Settings page or download it from https://desktop.telegram.org
I thought about writing «it was developed for three weeks, so there was plenty of time for many new critical bugs 😅» but I was hoping for the best — and I could not be more wrong! A critical bug, which results in Telegram Desktop crash, was found very soon and reported via Twitter (+ two more, not such bad).

So the only thing that could be done was to release a hotfix 0.9.6 version. Sorry for that! Not the first time and I'm afraid not the last :)
The all-new 0.9.7 dev version is available for you to download, it includes some new features and some important improvements.

The main feature of this release is the monospace markdown formatting: simply place your text in single ` marks for inline monospace code fragment or in tripple for a whole code block. Of course no text or emoji replaces in monospace text parts — and space collapsing no more:

#include <iostream>

int main() {
std::cout << "Hello World!" << std::endl;
return 0;
}

This version was built upon the new Qt library version, 5.5.1, so we can run into some strange bugs or unexpected behaviour, but I hope everything will be great!

You can download this dev version from the bottom of this page: https://desktop.telegram.org/#dev-version
Sorry for the previous message! I've mischosen a conversation for a test message 😭

But I have an excuse: I was really frustrated and could not believe the information I was checking at that moment — the text replaces still work inside the monospace code blocks (where they definitely should not!) in case this is not the first such block in the message or if it goes after any web link.

This won't happen again! At least not today 😅 And this annoying bug will be fixed in the next 0.9.8 dev version.
And the 0.9.8 dev version is now available. It has one important feature: you can add a caption to any photo you're sending 😃 You aren't asked for the caption only if you choose many photos at once.

Also some fixes here, including:

— Sound distortions, which were heard in 0.9.7 dev on some PCs, should be gone.
— No more text replacements in monospace code blocks (like -- to —, << to «, >> to » and <3 to ❤️)
— The tilde (~) symbol display in message input field fixed.
— Messages that you're sending to yourself now have clock icon and you know if it did get sent already or not yet.
The dev version 0.9.9 brings you some nice looking context menus in all the input fields.
If you are already using the dev version just update it in Settings, otherwise you can download it from the bottom of https://desktop.telegram.org/#dev-version page.
And now all last features are coming to the stable version 0.9.10 as well.

It is a first version that uses Qt 5.5.1, so some unexpected bugs may occur, you can report the things, that were broken since 0.9.6 version at twitter.com/telegramdesktop.

This version gets the ability to add a caption to any photo you're sending, new beautiful context menus in all of the input fields, the monospace font support using ‍`single backticks`‍ or ‍`‍`tripple backticks`‍`‍ syntax and the ~tilde~ symbol display is finally fixed in the 100% interface scale mode. Get this update in Settings or download the new version from https://desktop.telegram.org
We have worked really hard (and very long 😅 sorry for that!) to deliver you the next amazing update!

If you update your Telegram Desktop to the 0.9.13 stable version (and all other official Telegram apps to the next version as well) you'll be able to appoint admins in any of your groups — the exact list of guys who can change the group title / photo and invite / remove group members.

Even more, if you host a really huge community that exceeds 200 members limit, you'll be able to upgrade your 200-members group to a supergroup, which has a 1000 members limit and some other benefits.

IMPORTANT NOTE! Only the last versions of Telegram applications can access this new supergroups, so perhaps you should wait a while, while the major part of your 200-members group upgrades their apps (or at least discuss this within the group itself).

Today's update of Telegram Desktop is all about emoji and stickers:

— all the existing emoji are now supported, you can see them in the emoji panel (almost 500 were added)

— on the stickers panel you have a settings button now (in the lower right corner) where you can reorder and manage your sticker packs — the order will be automatically synced between all your Telegram devices (after updating the apps there to the latest versions as well)

— you can press-and-hold on a sticker in the stickers panel to see the preview (how this sticker will look when you send it), you can move the mouse while pressing and see the near stickers previews as well

You can update your Telegram Desktop to the latest 0.9.15 version in Settings or download it from https://desktop.telegram.org
A huge update was released today for all our apps! For Telegram Desktop first version of this update (0.9.16) had a critical bug and was updated up to 0.9.17 in the next hour.

This update includes great improvements for all the platforms in GIFs support (see https://telegram.org/blog/gif-revolution) and a new Inline bots feature (see https://telegram.org/blog/inline-bots for a detailed explanation).

Telegram Desktop besides gets fully redesigned media display, including displaying of photos / videos / files in conversations and in shared media section. I hope you will love them ❤️

And also you can now change settings for photos / voice messages / GIFs automatic download and GIFs autoplay (see «Automatic media download» link in Settings).
Today a new dev (means "in development" :) version 0.9.20 was released. It has a new crash reporting solution, each time you catch a crash in Telegram Desktop, it will first check for the updates (perhaps a fixed version is already out?) and if not, it will suggest you to send us a crash report.

Speaking of small improvements: you can choose a sticker to be sent by an emoji you've written in the message field, just like in mobile apps now :)

If you would like to be the first in helping us testing all the new features we make you can install dev version from the bottom of this page: https://desktop.telegram.org/#dev-version
