Hog eats Cockerel eats Snake (2007, ink on water-colour paper, 57x76 cm)

In Buddhism, the concept of the “Three Poisons” refers to the fundamental mental states that lead to suffering and perpetuate the cycle of samsara. These poisons are represented by three animals: the pig, the bird, and the snake. Together, they symbolize ignorance, attachment, and aversion, respectively. These three negative states are considered the root causes of all suffering.
