Hog eats Cockerel eats Snake (2007, ink on water-colour paper, 57x76 cm)

In Buddhism, the concept of the โ€œThree Poisonsโ€ refers to the fundamental mental states that lead to suffering and perpetuate the cycle of samsara. These poisons are represented by three animals: the pig, the bird, and the snake. Together, they symbolize ignorance, attachment, and aversion, respectively. These three negative states are considered the root causes of all suffering.
