From October 2023 to December 2025, 84 Palestinians, including one minor, died in Israeli prisons. According to some reports, the full figure is higher.

Of the Palestinians known to have died in Israeli custody, 50 were from the Gaza Strip, 31 from the West Bank, and 3 citizens of Israel. Israel released only 4 of the bodies and is holding the remaining 80.

Testimonies given to B’Tselem indicate that the inhuman conditions in these facilities, including deliberate starvation, denial of medical care, severe and systematic violence, and lack of access to basichygiene, have led to the deaths of Palestinian prisoners.
