❗️22-year-old political prisoner Dmitry Shletgauer died in Belarusian prison. This is the seventh death of a political prisoner behind bars in Belarus.
@viasna96 reports that a citizen of Russia, Dmitry Shletgauer, died in Mahiliou penal colony No.15. According to preliminary information, it happened on October 11. He was in the colony for less than a month. The exact cause of death is unknown.
Dmitry was reportedly born in Slavgorod, Russia. In 2018, he received Belarusian residence permit. The man worked in Kamianiets at an enterprise that produces polymer products and packaging.
This summer, he was sentenced to 12 years in prison for “espionage” and “assisting extremist activities.”
