I agree with @DefMon3 I have called for this before.

Ukraine isn't a signatory to the Convention on Cluster Munitions. DPCIM would also be effective in the current fighting and alleviate some of the strain on supplying HE-shells.

If stocks are available, send it.

@DefMon3:
🧵Leopard and Abrams are great, they are on the way, that does not help Ukraine today.

Ukraine needs DPICM and Cluster munition. Turkey did not supply them, this was a rumor refuted by Turkey and the US.

Below are 4 reasons why. https://t.co/8dcyz2SkmA

Another argument I frequently hear, is the issue with Unexploded ordinance (UXO).
My bet is that the millions of old soviet munition fired will have just as high, or even higher dud rate than DPICM. Ukraine can choose to use them in the most intense areas.

The areas with heavy fighting will have to be cleared anyway, so additional duds wont be that big of a problem. It will ofc cost more in the end to clear, but so will prolonging the war.

In my opinion, we should give Ukraine the option , and leave it up to them how to use DPICM. It's their land, it's their population. Victory is what matters at this point in time.

@patyorgi1 So will russian occupation. It has killed more people than UXO will ever do.

@BearsharkPasto1 Russian cluster munition yes. US, about 5%.
Def Mon (Twitter)

@hrnext They do, but the dud rate is about 50% instead of 5. They might have ran out wasting it all on Kharkiv city residential areas.
Def Mon (Twitter)

Both Ukraine and Russia are already using cluster munition, the benefit of supplying Ukraine with western DPICM with a 5% dud rate is they don't have to use soviet cluster munition with a dud rate of 40-50%
