🚀 European Central Bank to Launch Blockchain Settlement Pilot by 2026

According to BlockBeats, the European Central Bank (ECB) plans to initiate a blockchain settlement pilot named 'Pontes' by the end of 2026. This initiative aims to integrate distributed ledger technology (DLT) platforms with the eurozone's core payment systems.

🚀 Bitcoin Bulls Eye Dollar Weakness Amid Potential Reversal Signals

According to BlockBeats, Coindesk analyst Omkar Godbole has highlighted that Bitcoin bulls are anticipating a weakening dollar to provide upward momentum for the cryptocurrency market. However, technical charts indicate caution due to potential reversal signals rooted in historical patterns. The U.S. Dollar Index is nearing a 'death cross' on the weekly chart, a traditional bearish indicator that has repeatedly marked the dollar's temporary bottom since 2009.

Godbole notes that despite the ominous name, this pattern is often a 'bear trap.' Since 2009, the death cross has appeared four times, each marking a dollar bottom and trend reversal. The most recent occurrence was in January 2021, when the dollar index bottomed near 90 and subsequently rose, reaching a peak above 114 in September 2022. It is important to recognize that price patterns do not always unfold as expected, and the impending death cross may not necessarily trap bears again. Understanding this historical trend can aid traders in managing their positions more effectively.

According to BlockBeats, Forbes reports that Matt Mena, a cryptocurrency research strategist at 21Shares, has highlighted a potential trend where the rising M2 money supply could lead to increased liquidity flowing into Bitcoin and other digital assets. Historically, Bitcoin prices have been closely aligned with the M2 money supply, which is the Federal Reserve's estimate of liquid assets, including cash, deposits in checking accounts, savings accounts, and other short-term savings instruments like money market funds.

🚀 North Korean IT Workers Allegedly Infiltrate Global Projects, Says Investigator

According to PANews, crypto investigator ZachXBT has revealed that over $16.58 million in payments have been directed to North Korean IT workers employed by various projects and companies since January 1, 2025. This amounts to an average of $2.76 million per month. Based on monthly salaries ranging from $3,000 to $8,000 per person, this suggests that between 345 and 920 positions may have been infiltrated.

ZachXBT monitored six clusters, identifying one where eight North Korean IT workers were employed across more than 12 projects. The payment addresses were traced to two main collection points. Open-source intelligence indicated that a member of this cluster, Sandy Nguyen (@bullishgopher), was photographed next to a North Korean flag while in Russia.

Despite the public availability of numerous indicators and research materials pointing to these infiltrations, some individuals dismiss the findings as conspiracy theories. Further communication with related teams uncovered additional suspicious activities within the cluster, such as refusal to meet in person despite claiming to be in the same city, mutual job recommendations, unusual IP addresses, username changes, account deletions, payments to the same address, and failure to pass KYC checks.
