The ZKsync team has announced that ZKsync Lite will be fully deprecated on May 4, 2026. Block production will stop on that date and the network's final state will be permanently frozen. The deprecation does not affect ZKsync Era or other ZKsync Chains.

Users are advised to withdraw funds before May 4 via the standard withdrawal process, which remains live until shutdown. Users who do not withdraw before the deadline will retain the ability to claim funds after shutdown through claiming tools to be released following the deprecation; a read-only API will remain online for at least one year and funds will remain protected under governance.
ZKsync has announced that it plans to deprecate ZKsync Lite, also referred to as ZKsync 1.0, in 2026. The post describes this as a planned and orderly sunset of the original ZK-rollup launched on Ethereum and states that the deprecation will apply to ZKsync Lite only, without affecting other ZKsync systems. It says there are no immediate changes and no current requirement for user action, with ZKsync Lite continuing to operate as usual. The post states that user funds “remain safe,” and that withdrawals to Ethereum layer 1 will continue to function throughout the deprecation process. It adds that a detailed deprecation plan will be shared in the coming year, and that ZKsync will later provide concrete details, dates, and migration guidance. The post gives the reason for the planned deprecation as a shift in focus toward systems built with the ZK Stack, Prividiums, and the broader ZKsync network.
