If you take a look at the “Politics and economy” tab & you’ll see the largest number of these organizations style themselves as “nonpartisan”. There’s a hefty amount of conservative & libertarian type organizations in there too with a smaller number of “liberal” and “progressive”. Of course in my opinion anything “nonpartisan/bipartisan/centrist/independent etc.” is code for libtard but I digress.
The reason I find this interesting however, isn’t because of the ideological representation but because of the outsized influence some of these have in comparison to the way things are going.
You look around at what’s going on and you’d think something named “The Intersectional Justice Institute for BIPOC Worship” would be the think tank with the most stroke & influence vis-à-vis the regime.
You’d be mistaken. It’s actually the conservatarian types like CATO, Heritage, AEI & so forth whose suggestions & ideas seem to get implemented most often. As long as they stay in their lane of “big line goes up”(both immigrants & GDP), while also keeping their gentlemen’s agreement to not get into actually defending the culture & nation, then they’ll keep their place in respectable beltway society.
So we have a situation where there’s practically a complete vacuum of actual opposition (imagine that, shocking I know) in the policy institute realm. This is why things like the Homeland Institute are obviously needed and I’m stoked to see where it goes.
“Building a Third Force” means having the institutions & infrastructure as well as the ability to lay out an alternative path forward, without regard for the regime.
HI is one of those institutions.
