The company has partnered with hosting infrastructure provider Red Jar Digital Infrastructure, a subsidiary of Canada's Red Jar Capital. Compass reports that 95% of the facility will be provided by "clean energy", that is, electricity from nuclear, hydropower, wind, solar sources.
📌Compass CEO Whit Gibbs said the new facility will have a significantly higher capacity than the company's current equipment, which is located around the world, including the United States and Russia. “The new facility will be the largest mining facility in North America,” Gibbs said.
It will take at least a year to bring the entire 140 MW capacity to the new facility. Gibbs explained that the mining machines will begin commissioning by the end of January 2022 and reach their planned capacity by the end of the same year.
