Back in June it was in France (Annecy) 🇫🇷, 3 months later we are now making waves closer to home in Kenya (Nairobi) 🇰🇪.

This past week at Alliance Française Nairobi 🎬 has been a masterclass in distribution, co-production, and positioning our work for the global market 🌍.

This vital initiative was supported by the Creation Africa programme 🌍 and France in Kenya 🇫🇷🇰🇪, and we are deeply grateful for their commitment to our industry. And being the only Ethiopian studio 🇪🇹 in the room (out of a total of 10 studios in 5 EA countries) made this experience all the more special for us at Behagerlij.

The sense of community and shared purpose among East African creators has never been stronger 🤝. We're leaving not just with a notebook full of action items 📝, but also with a renewed energy ⚡ for the business of storytelling with our East African comrades.

Behagerlij twins in Lagos🌍✨

Behagerlij recently spent an incredible week in the Création Africa Forum in Lagos, Nigeria thanks to the generous support of the Alliance ethio-française d'Addis Abeba, Embassy of France in Ethiopia 🇪🇹🤝🇫🇷.

The forum brought together 44 African countries, represented by their brightest creative minds. Ethiopia's delegation of 11 individuals included leaders from studios like Efuye Gela, Vista Technologies, Qedamawi Studio, Guzo Technologies, ጉዞ ቴክኖሎጂስ, Bazeto Visual Effects, Whiz Kids Workshop, G Media and yours truly Behager lij. 🎬🌟

Today is a special day in the world of animation, and we’re beyond excited to share that our short film Zarem Arebnga was screened in Kenya, thanks to the amazing team at the Association of Animation Artistes Kenya (A3K). 🙌🏽✨

This project has been a true labor of love for our team, and seeing it resonate with audiences halfway across the world is a humbling experience. 🌟 We’re honored to be part of a vibrant global animation community and grateful to contribute to an art form that inspires, entertains, and connects people everywhere.

Big thanks to Japheth Mandela, Chief Nyamweya, and Sarah Mallia for organizing this and sharing the moment with us and to all the artists, collaborators, and supporters who brought Zarem Arebnga to life.
