The world of chasidic music mourns the untimely passing of Michoel Shnitzler, one of the most prolific and outstanding performers and composers over the last 40 years.  Michoel had just returned from Israel after Pesach when he suffered a massive heart attack on Friday afternoon at around 6 PM while visiting the Monsey area. Hatzolah paramedics did everything they could to save his life but unfortunately he passed away just prior to Shabbos at the age of 62.

*BDE:* Cantor Moshe Stern, one of the most prominent Ashkenazi Chazanim who attained fame around the world for his powerful voice and moving renditions, has passed away at age 87.

Born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1935, Stern studied under his father, R' Yisrael Stern who served as the chief chazan at Har Tzion in Jerusalem. His older brother, László (Benjamin) Stern, was the head cantor in Budapest for decades.
