NexDock, known for its lapdock accessories, has announced a versatile new smartphone slated for release in 2026. The NexPhone is designed to be a "PC in your pocket," featuring a 6.58-inch 120Hz display, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. Powered by the Qualcomm QCM6490, the same SoC which powers the Fairphone 5, the device stands out for its unique triple-boot capability, allowing users to switch between Android, Linux, and Windows 11.
NexDock developed a custom "launcher" for Windows 11 that mimics the classic Windows Phone Start screen. While the Windows 11 experience is available on the go, the device’s true power is realized when connected to a monitor or lapdock, where it transforms into a full-fledged desktop PC via a modern take on Microsoft’s "Continuum" concept.
