Morocco condemned the intervention of Israeli police in the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, and denounced "the aggression and terror of the faithful in the middle of the holy month of Ramadan."
"The need to respect the legal, religious and historical status of Jerusalem and the Holy Places and to avoid all practices and violations that are likely to destroy all chances for peace in the region," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The Israeli police said on Wednesday that they had "arrested more than 350 people" during violent clashes overnight after the police intervened inside one of the world's most revered Muslim places of worship to dislodge worshippers.

Uganda's Director of Public Prosecutions has approved corruption charges against Karamoja Affairs Minister Mary Goretti Kitutu over her role in an iron sheets scandal in the north-eastern region.
The speaker of parliament and some cabinet ministers have also been mentioned in the scandal that involved the alleged theft of 5,500 iron sheets meant for disaster victims in the Karamoja region.
The prosecutor on Wednesday said Kitutu, who is currently under police detention, will on Thursday be charged in court over corruption.

The third-placed candidate in Nigeria's presidential election, Peter Obi, says he is being pressured to leave the country.
He did not offer proof to back the claim but said it was part of government's attempt to "divert attention" from a "blatantly stolen" elections.

An audio has been doing rounds in Nigeria of an alleged conversation between Obi and a religious leader, in which the presidential election is likened to a religious war. Obi said the audio was a "fake doctored audio call". He added that his lawyers will take action against an online publication that circulated the clip.

Police in South Africa say nine suspected criminals behind a spate of attacks on security vans carrying cash have died during a shoot out with officers.
Visiting the scene in Sebokeng, south of Johannesburg, the police minister Bheki Cele said several firearms had been recovered.
On Wednesday, two bystanders were shot dead by a heavily armed gang which had just targeted a security van east of Johannesburg.
Most of the attacks happen in Gauteng and Eastern Cape provinces.

A total of 19 Central African soldiers, taken hostage in February by an alliance of rebel groups in the north of the Central African Republic, were released on Tuesday, announced the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Of the 20 soldiers taken hostage more than two months ago, 19 were released and "will arrive in Birao around 5 p.m. and they will stay there until we organize their return to Bangui" deputy head of the ICRC delegation in the Central African Republic told. "The twentieth is an injured person who had been separated from the group for medical treatment. We will recover him at another location later ," he added told.
The CPC's press release confirms that it has "opened negotiations" with "the International Committee of the Red Cross and MINUSCA".

His church, the Kimbanguist church, was officially recognised by the World Council of Churches in 1969 and is believed to count about six million believers, mainly in the Central African region and the African diaspora today.

The Guinean navy seized more than 1.5 tons of cocaine on Sunday from a ship flying the Sierra Leonean flag, the Guinean army said.
Sixty-two bags of 25kg of cocaine each and another of 22kg were found in the hold of the vessel boarded by the army during one of its permanent surveillance missions of the Guinean maritime territory.
The ship's crew is composed of four Sierra Leoneans, three Ghanaians, and three Guineans, according to the army's information and public relations department.
