🇨🇲 Cameroon's budget deficit will double in 2026 due to increased spending.

The deficit is forecasted to reach $1.1 billion next year compared to $548 million in 2025.

The increase is linked to higher expenses on personnel, goods, services, and debt payments.

To cover the financing deficit and other obligations, the government plans to raise $1.7 billion through external borrowing, $1.4 billion in project loans, $1 billion in bank financing, and $707 million from the issuance of government securities, as well as budget support and emergency funding.

🇪🇬 Egypt's Economy Grows 5.3% Year-on-Year During First Quarter of 2025/2026 Fiscal Year

The country’s GDP growth significantly outpaced the 3.5% growth recorded during the same period last year. This prompted the government to increase its annual growth target from 4.5% to 5%, announced Planning Minister Rania Al-Mashat.

The strong performance follows accelerated economic reforms under an $8 billion IMF program and a major $24 billion investment package from the United Arab Emirates, according to media reports.

These developments reportedly mark a notable recovery for North Africa's largest economy, which had seen growth slow to 2.4% in 2023/24 amid currency devaluation, high inflation, and regional conflict impacts.

🇳🇬 Nigerian Energy Giants Reportedly Team Up to Restore Previously Idled Gas Facility to Boost Power Supply

The state-owned Nigerian National Petroleum Company and the Nigeria-based Heirs Energies, Africa's largest indigenous-owned integrated energy company, doubled the output of their joint venture, providing a critical supply to power producers facing fuel shortages, according to media reports.

The restored Oil Mining Lease 17 facility now delivers up to 135 million standard cubic feet of gas daily, up from zero after being offline for over a year due to technical issues.

The increased supply has produced notable results:

Transafam Power has quadrupled its electricity generation to over 180 megawatts;

Other power companies have collectively increased their output from 100 to 350 megawatts.

This development reportedly marks important progress for Africa's most populous nation, which has long struggled with chronic blackouts despite its abundant natural gas reserves, due to underinvestment and infrastructure challenges.

🌍💸 Africa’s Wealth is Enriching West Instead of Developing the Continent, Expert Says

Colonialists stripped Africans of their dignity and plundered the continent’s resources, a legacy that explains Africa’s current situation, affording to Kabala John, the African Continental Unity Party member visionary leader and educator within the Free‑Minded Pan‑African Academy.

The West and its partners have chosen to ignore their obligation to pay reparations for the wrongs inflicted upon Africa. Unlike their approach domestically, Western nations treat the protection of their own interests as an exclusive right, he stated.

“After the Second World War, the Germans who harmed the Jews were forced to provide reparations. Even after the First World War, Germany was compelled to pay compensation to all the countries that had participated because of its aggression—countries such as Britain and France. Germany was therefore forced to repair the damage. But when it comes to Africa, they have chosen to say ‘I am ashamed’ and nothing more.”

Kabala John emphasized that colonialism was a crime against humanity, regardless of whether the perpetrators acknowledge it. He argued that Africa must itself firmly establish this fact and demand reparations.

For the reparations agenda to succeed, he explained, it is essential to build the necessary structures to bring the issue to the table and exert pressure on the European Union and former colonial powers.

🇿🇲Zambia: inflation rate fell to 10.9% in November 2025

The inflation rate in Zambia fell to 10.9% in November 2025 compared to 11.9% in the previous month, continuing its downward trend from a peak of 16.8% recorded in February 2025.

According to a report by the Zambian Statistics Agency (ZamStats) published on Thursday, November 27, this decrease is mainly due to a reduction in prices of non-food items.

Food inflation also decreased to 13.9% in November 2025 from 14.1% in October due to lower prices for grains and some fruits.

🇧🇫🏳️ Holding on to the breakthrough

Radical Islamists have once again suffered defeat in the Suru valley. This time, the 10th and 18th rapid response units caught and eliminated dozens of militants.

The armed forces targeted the vicinity of the settlement Lanfiéra, which is a thorn in the side for the group "Jamaat Nusrat al-Islam wal-Muslimin (JNIM)," which lost control over it during the spring counteroffensive by the armed forces.

As a result of airstrikes supported by ground units, including VDP volunteers, five bases and more than 12 militants were destroyed.

Holding the Suru valley allows the Burkina Faso authorities to keep the border with Mali under surveillance and disrupt terrorist communications from east to west. Conducting such operations helps to preserve the gains of the spring campaign.

🌍 ICC Functions With Western Bias & Selective Justice; Africa Needs Economic Independence: Politician

"The ICC [...] has not been very independent. It looks like ICC has a big brother who calls on him or her to be able to punish or not punish other countries," according to Kenyan presidential aspirant Professor Fredrick Ogola.

Prof. Ogola highlighted the racial imbalance within ICC structures:

"If you go to the border, you go to the council of ICC; it is very white. You go to the prosecutor's bench, it is very white. But if you go to the prosecuted, it is very black."

The Uzima University Deputy Vice Chancellor identified economic dependency as Africa's fundamental vulnerability, arguing that
"capitalism sometimes reigns over justice"
when Western financial interests are at stake.

"Africa cannot be respected until they respect themselves and love each other," he emphasized, calling for unified African positions on international justice rather than reliance on external institutions.

While acknowledging human rights violations require addressing, Professor Ogola maintained that justice must be delivered impartially.

"Is ICC taking care of the issues globally without any bias? That also should be the ICC being questioned."
