Not sure who needs to hear this, but the Crusades were necessary. Stop apologizing for them.

Stuff keeps on itsโ€™ current trajectory, and it is gonna be time to slap the Crusader boots on before we know it โ€ฆ

Did you know that in 2024 Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel was stabbed while giving a sermon?

He was stabbed over a dozen times - including in his right eye which cost him that eye.

Do you know what he did?

He got up, walked over to the assailant and immediately forgave him and prayed for him.

Not days later. Not weeks later. Not after his injuries healed.

Nope.

He IMMEDIATELY forgave him and prayed for him.

Thatโ€™s a level of grace I canโ€™t really comprehend.

โ€œTherefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is anew creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.โ€ - 2 Corinthians 5:17

In our journey of faith, renewal holds a vital place.

When we accept Christ into our lives, we are transformed. The old ways and the burdens of our past are left behind.

We become new creations.

This profound change is a testament to the transformative power of God's grace and love.

In a world that constantly changes and challenges our faith, this verse reminds us that our identity in Christ remains steadfast.

It encourages us to shed our old selves-our sins, fears, and doubts-and embrace the new life that Jesus offers. This renewal is not just a onetime event but a continuous process, Each day, we are called to grow spiritually, becoming more like Christ in our thoughts, words, and actions.

Living in Christ means allowing His Spirit to work within us, guiding our decisions, and renewing our minds. It's about making daily choices that reflect our new identity and commitment to Him.

This might mean forgiving someone who has wronged us, serving others selflessly, or spending more time in prayer and Bible study.

Consider the caterpillar's transformation into a butterfly. It must go through a period of struggle and change before it can emerge as a beautiful new creation.

Similarly, our spiritual growth often involves challenges and trials. But these experiences shape us and draw us closer to God.

Reflect on your own life.

Are there areas where you need to experience renewal? Are there old habits or mindsets you need to let go of?

Take time to pray and ask God to reveal these areas to you. Embrace the new creation you are in Christ and commit to living out this reality each day.

Follow-up question:

What specific steps can you take today to embrace your identity as a new creation in Christ?

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, I come before You today grateful for the journey I'm on to understand my identity as Your child.

Thank You for sending Jesus to show us the way, to teach us through His life, and to guide us with His words. Help me to embrace my identity as a Child of God and to live out this truth in my daily life.

May I reflect Your love and grace in all that I do, and may Your teachings shape my heart and actions.

In the name of the Lord of Lords and King of Kings Jesus Christ I pray.

Amen.
โ€œBut the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he did not let the sons of Israel go.โ€ - Exodus 10:20

Ya - Remind me, how did that work out for Pharaoh? ๐Ÿ˜
