A large coronal mass ejection (CME) was observed erupting from today’s X1 solar flare, captured by the STEREO coronagraph.

The eruption is significant — a powerful surge of solar plasma expanding rapidly from the Sun. Events of this size can carry intense magnetic energy and may interact with Earth’s magnetic field, depending on direction and speed.
