It's been just over a year since I last posted this. Now seems to be about the right time to do so again.

Eric Liddell on how to run a straight race. Muscular Christianity at its finest.

Yvette Cooper during yesterday's debate on "Violent Disorder" in House of Commons:

"Thirdly, I have been concerned for a long time that not enough is being done to counter extremism—including both Islamist extremism and far right extremism—as there has been no proper strategy in place since 2015. I have ordered a rapid review of extremism to ensure that we have the strongest possible response to the poisonous ideologies that corrode community cohesion and fray the fabric of our democracy."

"The UK's chief rabbi condemns the Government's decision to block some arms exports to Israel".

So began this morning's News Briefing from the BBC. I had to check, twice, that I'd heard it correctly.

Mirvis finds himself in good company, of course. As you probably know, the Church of England's "Ethical Investment" policy enables them to finance the production of weapons systems specifically designed to kill humans.

Here is Oil Welby on the issue just over a decade ago: "If we want to defend religious freedom around the world - and the freedom to have no religion - don't sell people guns who oppress religious freedom."

The context is not entirely clear, in that I am not sure what he was asked first. Nonetheless, this is what computer-game culture has enabled. A complete loss of humanity and idiocy beyond measure.

A clip from the Israeli English podcast Two Nice Jewish Boys is going viral on social media, showing hosts Naor Meningher and Eytan Weinstein discussing the idea of wiping out every single person in Gaza if given the chance.

Another thing Mark Twain probably never said:

"If voting made any difference they wouldn't let us do it."

I saw this in the UK Column forums last night and thought it a well placed comment.

Clare Wills Harrison gave a fantastic UK Column interview, which was published today. After 25 years in law, she has a lot to say about how and why the profession has gone wrong.

There was, also, time for her to explain her position on tax resistance, so I would really encourage you to listen and pass this on.

I am pleased to remind you that Clare will be speaking at UK Column On Location on 19 Oct.

Clare has recorded an addendum to her UK Column interview, which is very much worth listening to.

Also, she runs the Lawyers of Light Telegram channel and the Conscientious Currency Substack, both of which are to be extremely highly recommended:

David Clews recorded a short-form interview with me, for UK Column, about the coordinated savaging he received from state-controlled mainstream media. The provisions of the Online Safety Act 2023 do not just enable such activity, they effectively promote it. David runs Unity News Network.

Every so often, I will plug something which I consider worthwhile, especially if it brings joy and frustrates the state at the same time.

For many years, I have bought stamps from the Sudan Church Association. This means several things.

It forces you to take the time required to write a decent letter; something most of us do not do as a matter of course anymore. It is one in the eye for the controlling entities, as these stamps do not have barcodes or any of those ridiculous shapes on them. Mostly, they are things of beauty.

If we are to speak and think of a sense of revulsion at being under the yoke of technology and technocracy, I think we should act like it, too.

A challenge: send a hand-written letter this week. Raise your own spirits, and someone else's!

For the special consideration of this channel's subscribers, here is page 7 of this book. Commentary that completely eviscerates this with links to proof about why, is welcome, and should in fact be quite easy to find!

Utter BS! We have a constitution as confirmed in the case Thoburn v Sunderland City Council [2002] EWHC 195 (Admin) (18 February 2002) (known as the Metric Martyrs case). At paragraph 62:

"And from this a further insight follows. We should recognise a hierarchy of Acts of Parliament: as it were "ordinary" statutes and "constitutional" statutes. The two categories must be distinguished on a principled basis. In my opinion a constitutional statute is one which (a) conditions the legal relationship between citizen and State in some general, overarching manner, or (b) enlarges or diminishes the scope of what we would now regard as fundamental constitutional rights. (a) and (b) are of necessity closely related: it is difficult to think of an instance of (a) that is not also an instance of (b). The special status of constitutional statutes follows the special status of constitutional rights. Examples are the Magna Carta, the Bill of Rights 1689, the Act of Union, the Reform Acts which distributed and enlarged the franchise, the HRA, the Scotland Act 1998 and the Government of Wales Act 1998. The ECA clearly belongs in this family."

https://www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWHC/Admin/2002/195.html

The Bill of Rights 1688 ("BOR") says right at the beginning "Whereas the Lords Spirituall and Temporall and Comons assembled at Westminster lawfully fully and freely representing all the Estates of the People of this Realme ..." - clearly showing that they represent us; i.e., it's a simple principal/agent (master/servant) relationship, in which they are our agents and we are the principal. It's impossible that the servant can tell the master what to do!

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/aep/WillandMarSess2/1/2/introduction

The BOR is gold. I can't go through the whole thing here, but of note, it also says:

"And they doe Claime Demand and Insist upon all and singular the Premises as their undoubted Rights and Liberties and that noe Declarations Judgements Doeings or Proceedings to the Prejudice of the People in any of the said Premisses ought in any wise to be drawne hereafter into Consequence or Example." - meaning that our agents in Parliament cannot do anything to the prejudice of the ancient rights and liberties set out and protected in BOR.
