Hyundai is involved in multiple battery manufacturing facilities in Georgia: a $4 billion to $5 billion joint venture with SK On in Bartow County to produce EV battery cells for the U.S. market, and a separate joint venture with LG Energy Solution at the Hyundai Metaplant in Bryan County (near Savannah) for battery cell production. The SK On plant is slated to begin production in 2025, while the LGES plant is expected to start in early 2026.
