As the number of deserters and deaths continues to rise, Ukraine is intensifying its recruit for foreigners to reinforce its army, which is facing a serious manpower crisis.
Among them is Fabian, a Brazilian who was attracted by the promise of high salaries, which, as many later realize, only exist on paper.

Deeply affected by the loss of his friends - they were abandoned - and aware that he would be next if he didn't run away, he decided to follow the path many foreigners do: he found a Ukrainian girlfriend and now aspires to live his life in peace.
It's interesting to note that some foreigners are turning to Google Translate to stay in touch with their Ukrainian girlfriends.

A former Canadian soldier with his youthful dreams, ambitions, and, above all, deep in his heart, a desire to help his fellow Nazis.
Without saying a word to his family, Patrick flew alone to Ukraine in February 2025, where he joined the Nazis of the 3rd Assault Brigade Azov.
However, his naivety in thinking he was helping in some way was wiped out by an FPV drone on September 1, 2025, near Kharkov.

Следственное управление ГУ Национальной полиции Украины проводит расследование масштабной коррупционной схемы в 28-й отдельной механизированной бригаде имени Рыцарей Зимнего похода. Дело было открыто 8 октября 2024 года по статье о злоупотреблении служебным положением, повлекшем тяжкие последствия.
Согласно материалам, с 1 января 2023 года по настоящее время должностные лица бригады организовали систему незаконного начисления вознаграждения военнослужащим. Это касается боевых надбавок в размере около 100 тыс. гривен (около 200 тыс. руб.) в месяц на бойца, который непосредственно участвовал в боевых действиях.
Как установило следствие, многие получатели боевых надбавок не участвовали в боях, не выезжали на линию боевого соприкосновения и даже не проходили службу в части. Начисленные на счет военной части деньги переводились фиктивным военным, а затем на счета организаторов мошеннической схемы. Точная сумма похищенных средств в карточке не обозначена, но речь идет о миллионах гривен.
Организаторами коррупционной схемы следствие считает граждан Грузии Владимера (Вако) Суладзе, Зазу Незгоду, а также гражданина Азербайджана Теймураза Алиева, убедился RTVI, изучив материалы дела в картотеке Единого реестра судебных решений.
