Samsung has a feature (enabled by default) that replaces the rendered image outputs when their algorithm considers them malicious. It seemingly broke.
The most major problem with it is data loss. Some apps will only keep an on-device processed (passed through renderer) copy and that may mean an irreversible loss of media that you captured or received. Not a hyperbole.

According to Commodore support, you shouldn't be buying their Callback 8020 if you want to use it outside of their vision

Looks like it's legit, odd to see, perhaps it's a part of a larger generative model, which are already known to distort reality to a large degree, such as...

A small tidbit: Google will have a lot of low delay information on the chip production volume at SoC vendors, as they'll be required (or already are?) to upload the collected public keys out of every chip unit expected to end up in GMS certified device.

The app's author is right, every successful OS deserves a native fart app, can't imagine one without it. But will the projection succeed?!

Didn't test nor read the code, but the premise is pretty nice. Tldr Android doesn't verify (in complete meaning of this word) the signature of system apps, as the security model relies on verifying the whole partition instead. So to save resources, it trusts the signature part of the apk without trying to match the binary against it. An apk crafted this way won't be user-installable, but no one stops you from forcing your way with it into the system.

Looks like even if you disable Play Protect, GMS Android gonna be snitching what you attempt to install whenever you're not doing it from ADB.
There are other ways they can know, but looks like we're going to have a visual (user-facing) proof of that this time. Funny to think how it used to be a frustrating practice on Chinese stock ROMs, now for the rest of the world xD

I don't remember if I commented about RAW14 image format here, but looks like Google isn't utilizing it for photos on latest gen after all. What's exposed on Pixel 11 Pro is RAW12 and RAW_SENSOR with white level 4095.

State of wireless file transfer in Android malware is already better than state of wireless file transfer in AOSP (there's still only Bluetooth)
