North Korea is likely close to completing construction of a new experimental light water reactor at its Yongbyon nuclear facility, according to DPRK research website 38 North.

📝 “ It was possible to fix the release of water, which may be relevant to testing the cooling system of this reactor. Over the past few years, this is not the first discharge of water, but it may indicate that the reactor is close to completion ,” the report says.

❗️ In addition, new construction work has begun at the uranium enrichment plant, which is likely to increase the plant's capacity.

✔️ On March 27, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un inspected the DPRK Nuclear Weapons Institute and instructed to expand the production of weapons-grade nuclear materials in order to comprehensively implement the plan of the Party Central Committee "to progressively build up nuclear arsenals."

Poland is ready to host NATO nuclear weapons, says head of the National Security Bureau of Poland, Jacek

"Poland is potentially ready to expand its participation and cooperation in NATO's nuclear deterrence and take responsibility," Jacek Siwera, security adviser to Polish President Andrzej Duda, told the Deutsche Presse-Agentur newspaper.

The UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait announced oil production cuts starting May.

In separate statements, the OPEC+ countries said the cuts are to ensure stability in the energy market.
Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE’s Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, announced that the UAE will voluntarily cut its oil output by 144,000 bpd, effective May through the end of 2023, in coordination with some countries that are parties to the OPEC+ agreement.

“This voluntary initiative is a precautionary measure taken to ensure market balance and comes in alignment with the production cut agreed upon during the 33rd OPEC and non-OPEC Ministerial Meeting (ONOMM), held on October 5, 2022,” the minister said in a statement.
OPEC+ is scheduled to hold the Meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC), on Monday, via videoconferencing.

Most of the refugees with the status of temporary protection are in Poland—1 million, 577.29 thousand. In second place is Germany (922.66 thousand), in third place is the Czech Republic (502.0 thousand), and in fourth place is Great Britain (191. 9 thousand).

There are 5.5 million refugees from Ukraine in Russia, more than in all European countries.

War correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky died in a terrorist attack in St. Petersburg — what is known by this hour

Vladlen was holding a creative evening tonight at a cafe on the Universitetskaya embankment, which has often become a venue for patriotic events. There was a full house in the hall, and no security measures were observed in any way—visitors were not examined or searched. There were never any guards in the cafe.

The explosion occurred right near the stage; the blast wave blew out all the window panes of the institution and blew up the hall. Eyewitnesses report that the military correspondent was given a present by a girl-guest of the evening before the explosion. Presumably this gift—a figurine—contained an IED filled with high-explosive elements.

Vladlen died immediately, and people in a panic began to run out into the street. At the moment, sixteen victims with injuries of varying degrees of severity are reported. The presenter of the evening was taken away in a serious condition by ambulance.

The Russian Interior Ministry has confirmed the death of Vladlen Tatarsky after an explosion in a cafe in St. Petersburg.

Official report of the Ministry of internal affairs: "On April 2, 2023, at 18:13, information was received by the police of the Vasileostrovsky area that there was an explosion in a cafe on Universitetskaya Naberezhnaya building no. 25. As a result of the incident, one person was killed; it turned out to be military correspondent Vladlen Tatarsky. Sixteen people were injured and are being examined by medical workers. The leadership and a group of employees of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia left for the site of the incident. St. Petersburg police and emergency services are also working at the scene; the causes and circumstances of the incident are being established.

The woman with the statue may not have known that there was an explosive device inside; the investigators are working on the version that the woman could have been used "without her knowledge (involuntarily)." Investigators suspect that it was activated by a radio signal (the signal from the phone could have gone longer when the bomb was no longer around). And whoever activated the signal was not necessarily in the cafe itself at the time of the explosion, but he knew exactly where the explosive device was in relation to Vladlen Tatarsky.

The author of the footage says: "He was supposed to sit next to the scene of the explosion, but by a fluke, he took another chair." Emergency services are now working at the site. According to the latest data, 25 people were injured, of whom 19 were hospitalized.
