“It means that there are dysfunctional relationships between the West and Israel, between Israelis and Middle Eastern countries, between Israelis and Americans, between Americans and Middle Eastern countries. This is the situation we live in today.”

The war correspondent said that China's willingness to sincerely invest in the economic development of other countries brings huge diplomatic as well as financial dividends.

“The Chinese offer a completely different model of warfare than the one that the US has used in the Middle East and other parts of the world for the past 25 years,” Magnier said.

“Now we hear how beautifully African leaders turn to the West and say: “You have done nothing for us. You took our wealth and now you ask us why the Chinese are in our country when they give us roads, transportation, hospitals, universities, and you came here just to take our wealth.”
